I just started using the "real" TwistedWave software on my iMac as an alternative to Wavelab, which I'm not satisfied with in OSX. TW is one of the most solid independent audio programs I've used... And I've probably tried them all at some point, either on Mac or PC.
The iPad version looks EXACTLY like the OSX version, and I wouldn't hesitate to pick it up if I did any real recording on the iPad.

Absolutely the best by far. It's fast, solid, full of options and smartly designed. I think they will be adding input monitoring and a few more options, but other than that, I don't think it can get any better.
