(But I must confess that I tried it under Linux with wine emulation, so there may be some problems, obviously).
That "ON" strip is created by the VST testing host that I was using at the time, it is not part of the plugin itself so you should not be seeing it. Are you sending midi notes into the plugin? It only generates output notes in response to input notes. Is the transport running? If not, try it with the transport running and let me know if that makes a difference.
I am sure I'm sending midi notes, because if I plug a synth directly to the same input, it works. And running transport doesn't change nothing. Nothing out. It may however be a transport problem, because I have the same problem with some xoxos midi plugins like circuit for instance.

If running transport is not mandatory, could you suppress this feature ?
What host are you running? 32 or 64 bit?

My DAW is 64 bits, but wine emulation only runs 32 bits windows VSTs. I'm running VSTs through an host called Festige. Harmony Rotator launches, the GUI is working fine, no error message but no midi out.

Obviously, Rorator64 crashes, but it's normal.

It looks like Festige is a GUI front-end to dssi-vst which lists the following limitations on its info page:

Code: Select all

- Transport information is not passed to the VST plugin. This means that plugins cannot synchronise automatically with the tempo or metre in the host.
- VST "chunks" are not supported. This means that many plugins are unable to save and restore presets and other data.
Unfortunately, this plugin uses and depends on both of those features so it won't work in your setup, at least until dssi-vst can provide transport position information. Sorry. :(

I knew these issues. But anyway, some plugs are working. Thanks for taking time to try to solve my problem.

Err... about the note off triggers, am I missing something? How do I give it a note off message? I assumed releasing the note would send a note off message but it keeps on sustaining the played note until I turn off the play transport. Oh, I also tried hitting the same note again but that didn't work.

I tried it in Reaper. I guess I could try it in Tracktion, Podium, or Samplitude 9.

It should definitely send note offs when you release the note. Are you running the 32 bit or 64 bit version? Is it reproducible? If so, could you describe your settings so I can try them here ? Thanks.

Okay, I think I figured it out. It happens when the delay time on the firt rotator is longer than the delay time on the second rotator. Also happens (always?) with the Parallel voice delay being longer than the second voice. Common sense I suppose but I assumed it wouldn't matter. Anyway, seems to be working fine now that I figured that out.

Using: Windows XP(32 bit), AMD Athlon 64 X2, Reaper v3.7

wee problem in Orion: passing the note through to other
generator, but no midi processed stuff... :(
any Orion users out there? seems like Orion(7) doesn't like
midi manglers, had this problem with other midi plugins.
maybe there's a midi setting i'm overlooking.

Thanks, reproduced the behavior here, that's a bug. I'll put up a new version after correcting that.

New version is up. Please try HarmonyRotator v0.2 and let me know if that works for you.

You did it again ToneCarver by creating this wonderful application. Thank you for this one!

A question, for some reason the version I downloaded does not say "beta 0.2" but "beta 01". Did I got the wrong one?

A suggestion, it wold be nice to have Harmony Rotator in the same colors as Nova 3 because they work great together.

Cool thanks - I like stuff I can play with that also plays along with me :)

Can't get it to work in Cantabile; works in reaper though.

Having a lot of fun playing with this. Very inspirational and detracting me from my "proper" work (always a good thing ).
Cant seem to get it to remember its settings when I reload a project with it in FLStudio ..., haven't tested it in Ableton yet though , so off to do that now.
Thanks again , really nice concept
I meant to do that.
