Some info for people that need an eLicenser for the Xils synths (or others).
I am currently selling some of my softsynths which also includes boxed versions of Arturia Jupiter 8V and Arturia Prophet V and the boxes include an eLicenser dongle which were included at the purchase (so the dongles got the Arturia logo). AFAIK there are no dongles included in the current Arturia products as they also offer a software eLicenser protection now which is quite dangerous IMO due to having the license on your local HD.
You could check it here:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=323062
The prices shown are an asking price and not 100% fixed.
As i don't want to derail this thread please either send a PM to me or answer at the thread in the Market place.

The software elicenser is extremely dangerous. Once your hard drive fails, your license is gone for good and you will be unable to prove it. Go with the physical dongle.Ingonator wrote:Some info for people that need an eLicenser for the Xils synths (or others).

That's exactly what i do. I got a dongle with the boxed version of KORG Legacy Collection Digital Edition which i use for around 10 licenses currently.electro wrote: The software elicenser is extremely dangerous. Hi
I just received this track, made with the Synthix and I'm happy to share it.
https://www.xils-lab.com/audiosample/Sy ... scopia.mp3
" I'm loving the Synthix as I've always wanted an ELKA Synthex in software form above just about any other synth. So,I wrote this demo song for you guys. It's oldschool early-80s Disco!
Everything but the drums are Synthix; Brass, Bass, Strings, Lead....."
Thanks to Adam Borseti
Best regards
Xavier

After alot of thinking and debating I decided to take the plunge, purely based on the sound of this synth - however I would still like a 'layer locking' video to be made which is downloadable to watch on my offline pc, which reminds me - I need the pdf manual, back to Xils-Lab I go!
That's it, done and dusted!

One thing I noticed in the manual which I think is a little error:
On page 21 the text says:
"The image below shows the Layer 1 and Layer 2 as writable, but that layer 5 read only."
But on the picture below layers 1 and 3 (instead of 2) are lit in red

Cheers, bit of a problem now, the ELC is not reading the Synthix license, it needs to download a 'database' thing, but my studio pc is in the converted garage and is offline, I'm going to try to install the latest ELC otherwise I have to bring the pc indoors and plug it in to the net, aaaaarghhh!Lotuzia wrote:Here :breakmixer wrote:erm, where's the manual?

Dont move your PC just do the following :
1/ Install Elicencer on the PC wich is connected to the net.
2/ DL the licence from the Elicencer site on your Elicencer dongle.
3/ Put both installers (Elicencer and SY nthix) on an USB key
4/ Go to the garage, install elicencer plug the stick then the synthix.
Thats imho the interest of Elicencer you dont have to connect the PC to the net to install.
Done

I just had a play, with this latest version all glitches in the original demo I tried have all dissapeared 100%, using the 'init' patch and cruising through presets that don't use 'layer locking' this is a really intuative synth which works well, some of the presets are excellent and show the capabilty soundwise of this synth, I think everyone from Kraftwerk fans, Funk and modern dance will get something from this synth, this is the closest yet IMHO to an analogue synth in VST form, this will be a goto synth for me...This one I'm going to learn and not just stockpile

Really love the sound/possibilities of the Synthix demo!
Can I ask: what is the official XILS policy on using the demos for commercial work? I didn't see any restrictions listed in the download materials, but it's very important to me to use these tools only in accordance with the creator's wishes.
If it's not OK, then I definitely won't do it! (And I'm making mental calculations of the group buy on a daily basis...)
Big thanks again for all of the energy and creativity you guys put into this stuff.

I'm puzzled. What do you mean by 'using the demos for creative work'?

I asked this myself too. I'm quite sure that the demo version is not allowed to be used for commercial projects. It would be also difficult as you could not save patches with the demo.Sweep1 wrote:I'm puzzled. What do you mean by 'using the demos for creative work'?
@andrelafosse:
If you want to earn money using Synthix (or any other commercial synth) the only legal way is purchasing the full version AFAIK.
How many times did you get a permission to do commercial work with a demo version so far?
