You do realize that "the bearded hippy" is Mr Dan Worrall (or IIRs) himself, right?
And in motion, he looks less scary than on the picture he once had on his page.
On the other hand, nice build, but not my cup of tea to be honest. Then again, does it need to be that large or could it have been built into a smaller case (rack size, 3U or something)?

I think so. The case is packed pretty full, with about a dozen valves in there.Compyfox wrote:does it need to be that large?

No. That would be interesting, but I don't have any other modular gear to patch it to...whyterabbyt wrote:no CV inputs Dan?
Actually the morph knob at the bottom left started out as an input for a controller pedal, as I thought I might be playing guitar through it... turned out I prefered mangling beats and loops with it, so I got Nick to put the knob in instead.

No offense like, i have a soft spot for bearded hippies, have adopted a few my self. Once one came round my house with a SH101 and tweaked it until 4 in the morning in a similar fashionCompyfox wrote:You do realize that "the bearded hippy" is Mr Dan Worrall (or IIRs) himself, right?

I don't have a schematic (not sure if one ever existed outside Nick's head!) I should have snapped a pic while we had the case open...

Nick Collier? Wasn't he on a BBC Four documentary about synthesizers? I remember his stuff looked really awesome, seemed like a great guy too.IIRs wrote:Presenting the Valve Filter, built for me by my friend Nick Collier.
Its been out of action for a while: turned out it just needed a new fuse holder. Its good to have it back!

Yes thats him. http://www.nicksworldofsynthesizers.com/
The valve filter is quite conventional compared to some of his other creations! Definitely worth watching that short film: http://current.com/technology/89072740_ ... -synth.htm
