Only 2 minutes? You stopped listening a minute away from when it starts sounding good (I didn't like the scratchiness of the distortion at the start either)! Really love the distortion at the lower end, actually.

I just saw this: http://www.nicksworldofsynthesizers.com/organ.php

Separate synth for EVERY one of the 88 notes, effectively?? I think I'd've topped myself....

I so don't get this! Is this a joke? No offense to the OP, but what the heck are you going on about!? I guess I'm too old for this "new" music. Sucks getting old, but it beats the alternative!

Carry on...

hmmm... not to sound like an ass, but:
1. hardware, thus wrong forum section
2. is there _any_ audio demo for that unit where the sound is _not_ horribly overdriven and distorted beyond recognition? a tube not necessarily has to destroy a signal like in the demo...

I think this should have been placed in DIY as it does produce sounds that some here seem to have great difficulty handling.

I like dirty sounds..that video was chock a block with those kinds of sounds that would make my guitars and synths scream with... :D :D

Distortion...the radical other to nice clean sounds... :D

Kind of weird (but not unpleasantly so) to put a face to the voice... you don't look at all like I imagined you to Dan! :)

For those that wanted to hear the dry loop: http://platinumears.com/DryLoop.mp3

I just threw it together quickly for the demo; a time-stretched acoustic drum loop (played by Stu Doughty formerly of Reverend and the Makers) plus some synth drums from Microtonic and a simple bass part from Reaktor's Lazerbass ensemble.

To those wanting subtle examples... well maybe I'll put some up if I get time. But subtlety isn't really its strong point IMO: the fun lies in the crunchy distortion you get when driving it hard, and the chaotic interaction between the filter bands.
