Sophistry Update?

Hello,

Just recently started using Sophistry, the best feature is loading my own wave forms as samples - but I noticed I have a rather old version.

How do I update the Sophistry dlls? My current version ins 3.0.8 but I believe CronoX is already at version 3.6.1 or something?

:help:

on the linplug site there is only the split downloads page for Sophistry and a small installer (Full Install / Update) for CronoX. BUt I do not want the yellow CronoX but my blue Sophistry; there should be an installer for the instrument only! :(

is downloading the 3 GByte installer the only way? Even if this was the case I do not know whether this actually contains an updated version (on my bad broadband, download would take about one and a half days and I have a maximum download allowance per month)

Can somebody help, please?

Just jumping in because I saw your post. Peter will probably be able to give you a definitive response, but...

I thought that Sophistry was discontinued and the Sophistry soundset is now available as a soundset for ChronoX but not as a separate instrument. That's why it's still at version 3.08 while ChronoX is up to version 3.6.1. I think there was a special offer or something if you were a Sophistry user but not a ChronoX user. Again, the folks at Linplug will probably give you a better answer, but I think you'll have to get used to the yellow version if you want to be current.

hmm I just got an answer from Peter, and yes you are correct. Linplug also sent me a new key for CronoX so I can now use the Soph Soundset on CronoX 3.1.6

Initially I was afraid the whole UI would be different but that could not be confirmed. :P I also suggested that they add some drag and drop interface for samples, to make it more usable for project studios.

Just trying to wean ourself of using Presets! :D

Which preset would you recommend as an initial sound if I want to only use my own samples?

Yeah, i prefer the blue version, too and nice that you like the stuff i did, i have to say, i still use Sophistry everyday.. :)

And you are all right, Sophistry is now a "soundset" instead of a own product as it got started back in 2006.
God, i have lotsa more presets dun on my HW, i should release them for free some day.. ;)

Free, schmee! I'd pay for them! I use the Sophistry sounds way more often than any of the Cronox patches, so more in that vein would be very welcome.
Ummm...free would be nice too

Yes, for free, the aim of the game was to make 1000 Presets... But i didn't managed it in time, i made only 700 Presets, a lot of new waveforms and i released a free package of Dance/Trance Sounds, all together are something around 900-950 sounds so i have to release some more, free ones to reach the 1000 presets! :D
