I would recommend for your private testing team to form a private forum for them and the developer(s) to communicate. Have a feature request section and a found bugs section to order the sections as well as a general section.

Then when the dev posts a new revision to test they can make a thread on that revision where people can either discuss directly or link their found bugs posts.

Other testers can see what bugs have already been submitted, thus cutting down on duplicate submissions as well as discuss
feature requests or feature re-works before they hit the public view.

This also helps the devs as they have a central location to view all known bugs/issues and a way to mark them as 'work in progress' or even 'complete' status.

Initially we had been discussing the possibility of using the original ticketing system but things apparently got unorganized very quickly :) We've currently set up almost exactly what you've described here, and it will definitely allow us to stay much closer in contact with beta-testers.

My gawd, that GUI has to be a candidate for best of 2011

DNR,

Do we have to "click" the On buttons for each EQ band node, or can we just click on a node and go where we want? Please save me that one click... :) No reason to go back and forth. (Think FabFilter Q) ;)

I'm happy to hear the UI development has been so positive for so many people and we're excited to present this new version to the users :)

Currently it is not enabled to work that way, but this doesn't seem like something that would hold us up all that much, so I can see if it's possible to get that added.

Yes please do add the node click functionality as it is a very nice optional way to work with an EQ thanks :D

forgive, but doesn't that already work in 1.06? I just tried it and it's fine, maybe I'm not understanding??

It does not, but apparently there is a reason for that - the nodes do not appear until you enable them in the first place, so there is no way for that functionality to be added. We'll see if there is a way to work around this.

Can you just enable the Nodes be ON by default? ;) I can turn em off if not needed, but no reason to turn them On.

Set it up like this with all of them 'ON' by default:

1. HPF (12dB slope)
2. Peak
3. Peak
4. Peak
5. Peak
6. LPF (12dB slope)

The above is similar to FabFilter Q... click on the edges, it defaults to a Filter Slope, the center a Peak. ;) Right clicking you can change Peak/Notch/Etc.

Also if you can make the Nodes a little bigger and nice it would be perfect. That tiny ugly square just sucks. ;)

Just some points for consideration. I want to make this is grand success!

These are all very good considerations indeed, I will make sure we address these all during the beta testing. I will be as involved in presenting these adjustments to you all as much as possible, and we have also just taken on a new employee to specifically work on the beta-testing communications to make sure things go as smoothly as possible :)

Also, I'd like to remind users again to please, spread the word! All the marketing and advertising in the world can't compare to a lot of happy people talking about the software :)

Make us happy and welcome and part of the experience/development (hear our cries) and we will praise you to no end! :D

p.s. You're doing a good job so far!

I'm really happy about the direction MixControl has taken and I can't wait to get my hands on the final release.
The GUI is great but maybe it would be a good idea to replace the EQ band labels by a small picture representing the type of filter selected instead of actual text. That's one of the things that I love about PSP Neon and would like to find it in MixControl too.

In case i've missed it what happens to owners of the original MC? Will there be a paid upgrade or will it be free? If not how much money? I'm loving the look of the new GUI! Inside it makes me all gooey.
