IK Multimedia's requirement to run DAW as administrator blocks access to user account presets

Doesn't everyone have their user account set up to use administrator privileges anyway (unless its a work computer)?

When a program writes personal preferences to the personal folders there is no need for running in Admin mode.
Apart from installing/registering/authorizing I see no need whatsoever for Amplitube to need Admin powers. Don't take it as an attack, because if it were Arturia or Native Instruments or whoever I wouldn't see a need for it either.

We need to let developers know that it's NOT uncommon to use their software as standard users. It's not particularly hard to support those scenarios and Windows supports it easily - devs only need to rethink their assumptions about the way people use computers today.

It is something we have taken note to now that it has been brought to our attention but realistically this doesn't happen often or it would have popped up a long time ago. Time do change and we're working on this problem currently.

Geez. I just recently bought a new IK single and it was working fine that night but since then I could never get any IK products to load saying it Please make sure the product is installed correctly. Now the only way I can open any IK products is to Run As Administrator? wtf.... I never had this issue before so why now...
I'm on Windows 8. And apparently you can't whitelist the program and I don't want to have to lower the user control settings further than they are. There's got to be a real solution and not so silly workaround. I don't know why I'm having this issue all of a sudden but it's causing me a major headache.

All my IK stuff runs well with Admin. Privileges. If I had to also disable my UAC completely, and my computer was connected to the internet, I would re-think whether I should continue to use those IK plugs. Just me.

Here's something funny for you:
- two profiles in admin mode (one for office, one for studio).
- WL7 runs IKM plugins in demo mode (on render), Cubase as full version
- I'm also on Win7
So, even if I am an admin, I need to run my hosts in admin mode.

I had a whole thing with IK a few months back about this, and posted the solution in another thread, most likely long buried at this point.
Anyway, just re-install whatever plugins are giving you issues, but instead of double-clicking on the installer to run it, right-click and do "Run as Administrator." That should install them with proper admin rights so that you no longer have to explicitly run them as admin any more.
