Just dug up this one from April 2009. It's more subdued than my regular stuff, but I was feeling tired after the energy of the earlier pieces! The guitar playing is very poor, but I just had to try it.

Strike a light - at the beginning the rhythm doesn't seem to be clear or tight. But slowly it develops into a comprehensible pattern. For me it has a very meditative touch, very relaxing, somehow moony monotonous.

Yeah it's a bit loose at the beginning..some might say 'sloppy'
but soon develops into something a bit more complex and evolving.
i dig it!

@enroe: Thanks for the comments. I'm putting the rhythmic ambiguity down to the guitar playing, which I was already aware of. Moony sounds interesting!

@bluedad: Sloppy is my middle name. The original recording had a different arrangement where all guitar/keyboards entered at the same time, but I felt that the track never developed because of this, so I decided to bring in the guitar on its own, which left it a little exposed. I hope that overall the track benefitted from this arrangement.

Thanks very much for taking the time to listen to this. It means a lot that there are people willing to take a chance on this stuff.

Yeah, that's really nice seismic! I agree the main riff and that walking rhythm is very hipnotic. No trouble with the looseness here... I like that approach when it's well done and that's how this struck me. The track itself put me somewhere between early solo Sting and early Jethro Tull.

ooh this is so mellow. just what i needed after killing 180 trolls (don't ask).
i also think there is just the right amount of 'sloppy', it reinforces the lovely meandering feel. lush.

@polyslax: Thanks for the kind words. I hadn't thought of the Sting comparison until you mentioned it. Maybe I can hear a slight similarity to to Consider Me Gone. That early Tull stuff was really bluesy. The first album was really groundbreaking stuff. I still listen to that once in a while.

@folderol: The looseness is entirely due to the human element! My second attempt at guitar was little better. Glad you liked it.

@macmurphy: Thanks very much for the comments. How do you know it was 180? Trolls all look the same to me!
