Thanks a bunch guys, we will stay on schedule and will hopefully have some screenshots of the new FFT and EQ curves very soon. I'll just say it doesn't look anything like the original MixControl

To all users - we are planning on adding the beta versions to all current users accounts, once the new version is compiled. This will allow the regular users who did not sign up for the beta due to lack of time or resources to test the new version if they wish. We will also add a log to the user's download locations to explain a bit about what each beta fixes or adds.

+1 ...and making things backwards compatible always seem to hold the "new" and innovative stuff back... *cough**AMD**cough**...chokehold wrote:Doesn't hurt you (DNR) to keep the old version up, does it? If not, then that's the way to go IMO.
MixControl isn't "big" or bloated, so I doubt anyone would max out his hard disk by having two versions installed... I always thought the new MixControl Pro would be a new plugin rather than a remake of the old MixControl, and if it is - it seems to work alright, why not keep it that way?

This is a beta view of the new FFT and EQ display..

The EQ line will be thicker, to match the EQ node outline, but as a test to see how it works, I thought I would show users the progress of the old to the new
Much different than V1 for sure. The colors indicate the change each filter has on the frequency spectrum.

Are you planning to add a phase response curve in the EQ display like e.g. ReaEQ has?

this thing could end up sounding the same and i would be convinced that the nicer gui would make it seem to sound better...i know for a fact that the darker 'alchemy' gui makes the synth sound 3x better

Looks very nice! However for "contrast" purposes those colors would look nicer over a black background (like Fab Q).
I am loving it and I cannot wait to try it!

Yes we are but it will most likely make it into a point release. Our major concern is that the new FFT modes and EQ curves work flawlessly and that the new saturation and oversampling modes are top notch. Once those are tested thoroughly, we'll see how much time we have left, as we are trying to maintain a very strict schedule for the release.paterpeter wrote:Are you planning to add a phase response curve in the EQ display like e.g. ReaEQ has?

Cool! No hurry, it's not crucial, only nice to have sometimes. Get the important stuff straight first.DNR Collaborative wrote:Yes we are but it will most likely make it into a point release. The current background will probably not change, as it would mean a complete redesign of the interface. We may provide new UI designs in the future thoughvaisnava wrote:Looks very nice! However for "contrast" purposes those colors would look nicer over a black background (like Fab Q).

I agree a black background to the EQ window would be very nice.DNR Collaborative wrote:The current background will probably not change, as it would mean a complete redesign of the interface. A black background to the current UI? I think it would look very out of place for this version, but possibly in a future UI revision we can make other alterations such as that.lotus2035 wrote: I agree a black background to the EQ window would be very nice.
