Thanks for the post Debutante - I just checked out SPAN and it's a great plugin. It appears as 4 stereo input pairs in SONAR (Schope only shows 2) and it will show 1 or 2 traces on the screen.

Perfect! And free!

hi guys

space boy just seems what i need for avoiding masking because iuse a lot pf pads, drones in my songs so i really need a tool like this

anyway my question is:

does it only works for WAVE files put into the project window ( i use cubase 6 64 bit) or it also appplied to virtual instruments tracsk or with midi tracks assigned to any virtual instrument?

it is very important for me

thanx in advance

You're thinking of Voxengo CurveEQ...

It can be used on audio tracks only...but if the input of audio track is any VSTi playing midi or realtime from keyboard, the answer is also yes :)
But be prepared for a huge latency which makes realtime playing very difficult...anyway this plugin is pure genius and it cannot be substituted by any other plugin on the market AFAIK...

I use MautoEqualizer. With this one, you can let it cancel out the frequencies for you, and you can control to what extent. Expensive plugin if purchased on it's own. Cheap if you get the Mastering bundle. I love this one. It would be the only EQ I would have if I could only have one.
Play it by ear

Lazy sods *cough* :P

Apart from decent visual feedback i would be very dubious of such plug-ins which are able to tell you where to cut and/or where to boost bar the sort which can 'learn' a curve and then apply it to another instance (I use an old Elemental Audio Systems/Now RND, Inc. to do that if needed and it is quite handy at times but never spot-on, Always requires tweaking. Great nevertheless). What is not working with the old cut one source in a specific area and then boost another source in the same area one has just cut to clear things up. Im not remotely claiming to possess golden ears at all but heck before all these OTT ITB clever tools were available i had no choice but to use blind faith :hihi: . Out of the two Voxengo EQs mentioned i would probably go with one of them, The one which has dynamic abilities (GlissEQ) but if your on a windows 32-Bit setup then CurveEQ is good. For nowt just grab the latest version of SPAN2 plus insert EQ of choice here already in the plug-ins folder and have at it

sorry, but COMPLETELY different sort of plugin...like apples and oranges
dont take it bad, becouse I like and have all Melda plugins :) ,but you cannot do automatically /realtime based/ space for another conflicting instrument with MautoEQ like with Space Boy
:(

so to be clear enough-you cannot apply Space boys /directly/ to midi tracks, but only to audio tracks /but-in Cubase these audio tracks can play audio from assigned VST instruments/...so the answer for you is yes,you can use Space Boy for what you want

...and there is a demo,so I highly recommend-test it for yourself first!

The multifreek website gives a 404. Can't download the demo to try it. It's not an option.

Does anyone know how to get SPAN to work? I've loaded an instance in each track in Reaper but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get all the signals to appear in one instance of the plugin to compare them. I've RTFM and messed about with the routing but unless there's some kind of voodoo magic involved it's far from obvious how to set this up.

I've also got the latest version of GlissEQ which has got the same routing functions but is also confusing me even after reading the manual. Is it possible to route the signal from each instance of these plugins to one of them so that I can compare signals or are you all having a collective joke at my expense so I spend hours trying to get them to do something they can't do? :P

I tried the VertexDSP plugin but didn't think it was worth £80 and Bluecats plugin at least has a walk through about how to set it up to analyse all signals in each plugin.
