Suhr is in Lake Elsinore so you just send your guitar back to them when you want a setup.
as good as that sounds unless it's driving distance and in the same climate that's not a selling point. Whether it's a little truck, big truck or an airplane anything you ship is subject to some extreme temps in both directions, then of course there are the people who pack the trucks and delivery vans that toss cartons around without a second thought...it might leave their shop with a great set-up but there is no way of knowing whether it will arrive the same way. And probably one of the more critical things most people are afraid to do one their own (the trussrod) is one thing you really have to worry about from temp changes

I'm not putting down the guitars at all, I'm just saying 'sending' my guitar out via shipment with any carrier to anyone is not imho the best way to be assured of a good set-up ;)

See, you say that because you live somewhere where the temperature can vary wildly. In California, the weather is always perfect.

It was around $2K used. I just decided one day that I deserved the *perfect* guitar and that was it. Of course, as so often happens, while it sits pampered in its velvet-lined case, it's the guitar lying on the couch (your PRS these days) that actually gets played.

Tone Zone in the bridge (I prefer the Air Zone) and PAF Pro in the neck (sounds super cool with this maple top!).

*grumble grumble LA people grumble grumble*

However, I'll take what I've got here over anything east of Denver (and that's being generous) :D

okay I'll explain this one more time and prove our weather will always be better than yours. You see we have 4 seasons and of course each one is different, when you grow up here you come to appreciate each season for the beauty they each have and also because of the contrast between seasons.

So by the end of each season a true New Englander is ready for the next season and it's always an improvement over the end of the last season. Naturally as that season starts to wear thin the next season starts to look better and this cycle has continued 4 times a year for 1,000s of years.

Therefore if each season the weather always gets better than the last then it can be said that in my life the weather is 208 times better than it was when I was born and your weather is still the same as it was when I was born. As there is no such thing as perfect and given the 1,000s of years this has gone on our weather is better by lightyears and yours has been left in the dust (or smog as it were) :P

By your previous logic, this means you need to have different guitars setup to accommodate each changing season. You need 4x as many guitars as we do!!!

hmm, come to think of it, that's starting to sound pretty good. ;)

I really wish you wouldn't have show me all that suhr stuff, you know I'm a junkie don't you ????

My digging didn't get much info on the rasmus, but I haven't really dug deep.

@pickups: I'm concerned now because of my ultra curse with local techs and not quite sure I can diy. Emgs? Yeah, those are easy  but wiring (especially when I don't want the "stock" wiring.........:scared:

Apparently EMG and BadCat are working on a "Curse Edition", connecting wireless to your BadCat amp. No soldering necessary !
Only system requirement is a BadCat amp and a working internet connection with full access permissions to the data folders on all your PCs. :P

(thought secretly I wish it was true :hihi: )

Emg is going to be at summer namm.............should I hope?

You know how to take these remarks ... :-)
You can be sure to have full support from all of us in case you decide on trying some mild DIY, including no jokes about eventual mistakes.
All of this is not too hard to do, EMG really offer a no-solder version afaik, but this will probably "limit" you to the standard wiring.
Don't know myself as I don't use EMGs, Dean or Hink will know for sure.
Cheers,
susiwong

Edit : From what I see on the EMG site, the no-solder thing is a bit misleading, you still have to solder the switch and the output jack ...
Unless you buy a complete pickguard, which probably won't fit your guitar.
Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't have hands-on experience with newer EMGs.
