So I'm curious as to what everyone's preferred DAW is nowa'days, or rather which one you use most. I've always been an Ableton Live user, but a large reason for that is it was the first DAW that I seriously started to learn and make my tool. Lately I've been wondering about the workflow and characteristics of other DAWs, and see if maybe I've been missing out on anything.

Vote on the poll, and if you care to, comment on your choice. Perhaps add if you use DAWs to record live instruments, or program everything in the box, and what genres you generally produce.

Also let me know if I left out any big names in the poll.

For MIDI sequencing, Sonar. For quick arranging, energyXT2. For interesting sound, Renoise.

As usual, the poll leaves out Samplitude.

I'd add it, but I don't think I'm actually able to edit the poll at this point..

Which sucks.

I've tried/owned/worked with: Cubase, Live, FL, Reason, Magix Music Studio, Acid, Renoise and Buzz. Enjoy all of them (except Cubase, Music Studio and Live), but greatly prefer FL.

interesting: i'm surprised at the showing for Logic (the love of my life); surprised at how no one answered Pro Tools, and wondering what the "Other" entries were. I answered Logic, but I have started experimenting with Reaper on another computer I have.

For the past six years I have been mostly using Live.

I use Wavelab for editing and mastering.

FL Studio here.
Though i've messed about a bit in the demo of Studio One and I quite like Mulab as well.

it used to be sonar, but is now studio one, as sonar just became too unstable for me the last couple of versions

Samplitude for me

Exclusively Reaper now.

I've just been loading up my new computer with all my music software. Haven't even bothered to load FL Studio or Sonar this time. I feel a bit sad at the money wasted on those two (especially Sonar producer), but truth is I just don't need either of them. Last time I loaded Sonar just to get the Sonitus effects, but it's not even worth it for them anymore.
