Trigger Pro-53 from Cantabile

Hi all. I'm on my evaluation period of Cantabile Performer and I really like what I see so far. It works well with my old outboard midi gear along the VSTi I use.
However, I have one big and irritating problem.

I use the NI Pro-53 for a lot of triggered bass synth sounds. I use the TRIG and MIDI buttons in Pro-53 as I've done succesfully in Cubase and Studio One for years but Cantabile can't handle this. It skips notes.
For instance if I want to play 8th notes it always leaves out the 1.
I've tried to tweak my soundcard thinking it could be a latency thing but the problem remains.
Any ideas?

I managed to fix this all by myself! The fix was to set Cantabile to be tempo master rather than the MIDI-file.
