Great to see that Reaper gets many votes :tu:
Even if I'm a Cubase user.

I've got Reaper, Live 8 & S1 Artist. Presonus S1 is really great & easy to use, I like the fact that its more geared towards musicians rather than producers (although its great for that too) but I just don't feel the need right now to upgrade to Pro, maybe if there was some kind of special offer soon. I've been using Reaper for a few years now & it just keeps getting better. Version 4 is gonna be a massive update when it eventually comes out. For shear bang for buck Reaper just cant be beat, a lot of people don't really get Reaper & very quickly dismiss it after a few hours of use. The difference between Reaper & most other DAWs is that with other DAWs you have to sit & learn the Cubase, Abe Live etc. way of doing things but with Reaper it has to learn your way of doing things. This does take a bit more time to do though, customizing menus, toolbars, track templates & Macros to your way of working. But once you put this initial customizing/learning time in, it really pays when it comes to a very speedy workflow.

I guess anyone who's reading this right now is thinking "Huh...typical Reaper fanboy" Well I'm afraid your wrong, as much as I love Reaper its just nowhere near as fun or inspirational to use as Ableton Live. Technically There are better DAWs out there, even at its exceptionally low cost Reaper has quite a bit more features that Live could do with, but if Live had a comping feature, was 64bit & had a slightly more advanced Arangeview (I've actually gotten very used to the arrange views minimal look) oh..& could handle as many vst/vsti's as Reaper, I'd probably use Live exclusively. This opinion is very likely influenced by the fact that I've been doing more Electronic orientated music lately & if I was back with the band again I'd be more likely to use Reaper. I'm just hoping that the much needed added feature I mentioned earlier get added in Live 9.

So my vote goes to Abelton Live. (a very hard choice between Live & Reaper though)

Orion / Renoise, it depends of the music style I do

I use Cubase but I have tons of respect for Reaper, more than most of the others. Not just the DAW itself but Justin's overall business and update model.

I haven't upgraded to Cubase 6 but if Cubase 7 doesn't bring the Cubase GUI into the 21st century then I just might go the Reaper route.

I own FL Studio (which I rarely open up), Project 5 + Sonar (which I haven't upgraded since 7), and Pro Tools MP 9.

I'm strongly considering switching to Reaper and shelving the rest. I've been "testing" it on and off for years, and it just seems to do anything I want it to do.

"Other" does not cut it!! There has to be a fish option...this poll no longer has validity without the fishie option!! :x :x :P :P

I'm genuinely surprised to see that Pro Tools is so low in the poll - not least because, as we all know here, it's the only one wot dem pros use...

(I use Ableton, Sonar and Reason/Record - but I ain't no pro).
