it supports core midi but the I/O is the same as the original.

The new IK Irig midi, however, supports core midi, has midi in , out AND through, and a charging port...and includes SampleTank IOS

and your issues with the update are why I haven't updated my Pod Farm software as of yet.

Thanks for spreading the word! We're really excited for iRig Midi and SampleTank iOS!

You could also try out AmpliTube 3 FREE for another nice collection of guitar and bass gear!

One thing I know for sure is that Amplitube 3 is definitely a million times more stable that the current version of the pod farm.

I think I'll be getting the iRig MIDI. I like the charging port, and if you're running GB for iOS hard for awhile, it can certainly eat batteries.

Yeah the charging port was an absolute necessity to make it useful for live use! Thats the main point for SampleTank iOS, live use!

Hey, is there a sequencer in Sampletank iOS, or anything to record what you play?

Oh I'm glad I found this thread. I have an odd idea of how I want to use a device like this and the iRig MIDI seems perfect. My idea is to velcro my iPhone (in airplane mode, of course) to the body of my guitar or stick and use an app that uses the accelerometer to transmit midi data... or maybe xy too. This seems possible with an app like this, eh?

Just a heads up iRig Midi is shipping now and SampleTank iOS should be out any day now.

Amplitube 3 is though memory hungry and monolithic, i.e. not available as different plugins based on type of fx, and doesn't play well with some other plugins. Just to balance it some in IK Multimedia-land... sorry KVR-land. But yes, otherwise Amplitube 3 is great.
