Recently came across this place:

free hosting with 100mb of space and unlimited bandwidth.

Don't know if this place has been mentioned here before - apologies if it has, but I know several people are looking for somewhere to put their tunes, preferably in their own space for as little outlay as poss.

It don't come any cheaper than free, and with 100mb that's a pretty good offer.

I work with a couple of people who are signed up to it and they say it's cosher.
Might be worth checking out?

My advice to you, without putting a downer on your find, is to be extremely wary of free hosting. It generally tends to be on very slow servers, and have little or no support. Also mostly loaded with advertising banners or such.

Its worth paying a little for webspace. For about £40-£50 a year you can get very good hosting packages with 24-7-365 email support, all the trimmings you'd ever need and decent servers and management.

Just a thought, its worth the outlay believe me.

Yeah, that's not a bad one Jeez, and Quincy I hear ya.

But don't get me wrong; I don't need it personally.
I pay £70 a year including VAT and I get 500mb space with that plus loads of extras.
I'm happy with my package and my host (1and1).

Just that I've been hearing good things about this place and thought I'd put a link for anybody still looking.

OK, just looked at Krims site and I must admit that little banner thing'd put me off.

If, however, you can't afford to be choosy and just need space, well it can't be bad can it?

Not to be rude(Me?! never!) but i think you are all missing the point a bit. Most of you would be only too willing to pay out £50+ for a decent new synth or effect or whatever, and i assure you its worth that much to get decent webspace.

Put it this way, on free webspace your site is much more likely to go down, highly likely to be slower, may well have limitations on file type or size( a lot won't allow MP3, or larger than 2mb etc ), probably have very little support when something goes wrong.

SOrry to be going on about this, but in the scheme of things its a very good investment to get decent webspace. Just check the link i posted and look at the mid package, you gat a hell of a lot for your money, including:

500MB space, .co.uk domain name, mailing lists, email accounts, MySQL databases, scripting support(if you ever want to get heavy) and the list goes on.

Oh, and don't listen to funked, supanames have won awards for their hosting including best consumer host this year

My sites always been crap anyway, i can do HTML to save my life. It looks crap, but it gets the job done, lets ppl DL my music.

As it stands, my current Web Provider has asked me to cut my traffic down. I get my space free (250meg, email etc) but traffics gone up to 7gig a month, which is causing probs. Im happy to move files elsewhere, and if its free, im very gratefull

One other thing, if you really don't want to pay you'd be much better off getting an account with soundclick.com or somewhere like that. They will have decent server speeds, let you upload as much MP3 as you want, and you'll be much more likely to get exposure, most people set up sites that no-one ever sees! And they'll even let you design your own pages too

Since when do doctors know about hosting?
