I'm out, and put out. I was quite enjoying the synth voting process that was developing and I assumed that there must have been a good reason for bypassing it. Quite disappointed to find that it's for a pay synth, particularly when there are so many interesting free synths out there to be explored. I wonder what would have happened if we had voted on weather to have a pay synth? Maybe I'll compose something with the demo and try to work in between the drops...

Sorry about that Gorgor, and touché about Z3ta in the vote..

One of the big things about Z3ta is that it's 7 years old and has been on sale for $20 many times so it is more than likely widespread among KVRers.

And it's just to do something new. Keep in mind the big difference in entries between popular and not so popular synths which means there are also obviously a lot of people who don't enter in other comps because of not-so-hot freeware so let's see how this all evens out.

I just had a chance to test the demo. First of all... awesome synth! The audio dropouts seem to occur every 11 seconds, regardless of tempo. I rendered the same midi track to audio twice and each time the dropouts were in different places! This means it will just take some simple snipping and crossfading between the two renders to get a complete take. Will actually be a lot easier dealing with this process than the bugs from the last two synths. Here's a screenshot of the two audio bounces, the seconds are in the tick box on top:

Would be nice motivation if a full version of Z3ta 2 were offered as a prize!

Good post that says it all.

I'm very happy with this choice . I bought it once sale last fall but never really dug into it.

My motivation in this is to learn new things so it's great to use a synth that will remain in my collection unlike those 2 previous ones which I already deleted from my hard drive.

It's likely that more people will post multiple songs this month.

I am happy with the selection of VST for this month even though it's not freeware. The main reason for me to participate in OSC is the limitation. It's not very easy to create a track using only one synth. Also, it really gives a chance to explore the synth and synth programming. I learnt a lot about P8 when I created a track for the contest. Last two synths were buggy hence did not participate.

Ok, now that the speech is over.. I just bought Sonar X1 couple of months back.. so yayyyyyyyyyyyyy...

v'ger and irondaronin.. oops irondairon... damn.. ronindairon.. forget it.. :-D thank you both for running this contest

I used the same trick with ACE, before buying it. I needed almost 3 bounces on the same track; it works seamlessly if the synth is "stable" in the time, otherwise you should crossfade the resulting waveforms.

I was thinking the very same thing.... I may be in it yet!

I'm impressed and surprised, in the good way, about what is capable to do a person to participate on this month.
I mean that i'm very proud of you all, because despite the obstacles, you still want to participate and make a track. That actitude made me smile. That's the actitude people!
That's the actitude in life, and wherever. So cheers! :)

This remembered of me when was a teenager and wanted to make music with Fruity Loops demo to any cost, i needed to compose the track in real time in one day, because load or saves was deactivated, and i only could to render into mp3 in the same day. Ahh, those times...

@SatYatunes
You are welcome ;)

Have a good day. :)

That explains why you are so fast making songs! :P

I thought I found the solution to the demo issue and installed the Sonar 30-day trial thinking that a fully working Z3ta+ would be bundled with it, but nope, no Z3ta+. :( They do include Rapture though.:?

Hopefully the same easy audio dropout workaround will be possible with the demo for Z3ta+2 when that comes out. 8)

Some commercial synths have previously offered a 30 day fully working demo before needing to be bought/registered, which would of course be most fortuitous for Z3ta 2 and the OSC if that were the case.

Here's hoping - we'll know day after tomorrow

Me too, at times more than a day. Last night was playing with Z3ta just going through the presets and that will continue for another 2-3 days before I start thinking about creating a track... :-D :hihi: .. am not so good in the talent dept :-(

Irion is incredibly talented, I like and enjoy his tracks.

Will be interesting to see what happens with the voting for July OSC. If Irion pulls out a victory then that would make him the champion of music cafe contest and osc contest in same month!

KVR would need to build a statue in his honor!

It won't sway my vote, but it sure would be quite an achievement. :D

Hey, hey, stop it already please
I'm getting embarrased with all those kind of nice comments, because i'm not accustomed to it and i don't know what to say really. I'm very shy with this kind of things, although i must say that i like some good comments sometimes which push me to continue making music. But not too continously, hehe.

Anyway, i never considered myself as a champion or a "pro", just a guy who likes composing music about his feelings and still learning about music, and about life.
I always thought, that you can't be a champion for everybody, you just need and must to make music and expect some people likes it, and others hates it.
That's all. :)

Anyway thank you very much for all those nice comments. You all made my day.
THANKS!

And now, please, let's continue with the main thread of this post.
This is not the 'Irion for president' thread :hihi:

Have a good day brothers and thanks again :)
