...another work-up of Princess Singer

Before he ever met you he always knew that you could fly
That long and lonely summer was so dry
The world seemed empty but he kept on trying
Little did he know in his mind that you were watching all the time

Remember every breath is a miracle
Maybe more than you will ever see in your mind's eye
If you could only try
You might get high

Princess Singer
Genius, Bringer
Linger a little longer while you shower me with your song
Then fly along, fly along; and help another who is lost

Looking at you it seems that life is so unfair
But just when they wrote you off you still showed you care
That you might one day sing with my crying guitar
Would be the ultimate ecstasy by far

Solo (rehash of Little Dreamer lyrics)

Princess Singer
Spread your wings
Fly away, you're the best who ever lived
Princess Singer
Spread your wings
Fly away, you're the best who ever lived

Looking at you it seems that life is so unfair
But just when they wrote you off you still showed you care
That you might one day sing with my crying guitar
Would be the ultimate ecstasy by far

Even better than pizza or spring rolls or curry or peanut butter
Your singing to a weeping set of strings is worth more than all the diamonds and the gold in the world

Fly little lady
Princess Singer
Fly little lady
From another world, the Bringer...

...slipstreamed a new mix for 01 version... maybe needs more low-end, less mid-high... but the overall setup is definitely different from before

that is brilliant :)

my only criticism would be that the solo is a little long (i listened to number 2). apart from that it's wicked :tu:

neil.

indeed, 'the solo is a bit long' seems to be a general comment..

i've worked some more with dblue's glitch, to give more variation to the guitar...

honestly, when trent and i were jamming to this, i was thinking of how patient he must have been to have just kept going through all of the wankery.

we were discussing it later, and agreed that it isn't mindless wankery, but rather; mindful wankery.

it takes a lot of concentration to try and make something happen... there are always numerous thoughts going on, about what to do next, and whether the thing of the moment is being played well, and if there's a mistake, should it be repeated so as to sound intentional? ...that sort of thing.

anyway, yet another bump because this latest remix of the 01 version is one of my favorite all-time mixes...

the main thing which chaps my hide a bit are the artifacts on the vocals.... on the one hand the vocals sound like an old radio (which is good), but there are those digital artifacts which give it away as being modern...

the kick is linked to the arp on the bass synth (dirty harry). there's also an lfo on one of those controls, so the arp pattern doesn't remain the same.

one interesting thing about this is that the hi-hat sounds like it's more or less tuned to the tonic, D.

anyway, hopefully the new glitch pieces will make the length of the guitar solo tolerable...

grins
