Man, everyone's against me on this! Even the people at JRR think it's cheesy, I must be the only person in the world who likes it.
... and that's all that matters. :tu:
Period.
It's a very tasty combination, nothing at all wrong with it.
Enjoy,

Yeah, there is nothing wrong with it......if it's what you want.......who is anyone else to say you shouldn't? I'm sure a bunch of people wonder why I like ibby so much (:cough, the necks :cough)? Who cares, it's a personal choice :D

Van Flailin'

Edit: Not AS drunk that time/much more musical :help:
Awesome clip !
Shows off his Beck influences a bit, too ...
Eddie (if he's halfway sober) is one of the heroes, no doubt.
Not for being flashy, for being flashy and musical. :tu:

Buckethead - not for me, sorry.
My traditional annual visit of the typewriter championships is enough. :P

When it come to taste in music everything is subjective anyway.

I do object.
Tolerance is well and good, but there are limits.

I like buckethead. Pure talent/art. Now, it's not my "thing" but still relate to the interesting/avant garde thing :)

Post

btw, what pissed me off was that after doing the "intro" to "mean street"......he didn't break into it :x :bang:

+1 about avantgarde, but this is avantgarde reloaded lite in a bucket, sorry.

Les Paul, Zappa, Fripp, Hendrix, McLaughlin and Co were avantgarde, they did all of this stuff before (well, minus the contemporary typewriter shredding).
Eddie was avantgarde too, just like Vai (arguably).
Not much innovation after that point imho.
On a lesser level maybe the Edge or Reeves Gabrel might qualify.

Nevermind, only personal opinion, only about the avantgarde aspect.
Enjoying the music or not is completely unrelated.

Certainly not to everyone's taste, not avantgarde either, but nevertheless he was groundbreaking with his amazing technique of playing harmony lines.

Make no mistake, that's all Scotty, Arlen only plays some chords.
He uses the pick and the nail of his right hand index finger to pluck two adjacent strings simultaneously.
Try it, it's basically not that hard, works with plectrum too, but using it the way Scotty does takes a little bit more.
Plus he invented this very useful technique afaik. :tu:
