Neck pickup that sounds like a strat alone (but with no hum), a PAF when combined with the bridge, and can magically transform to sound like a strat neck+middle for the SRV stuff.

Seriously, I said it before, try a DGT

through channel 2 mode A or B of your 6100 for rhythm, Klon in front for lead, maybe a hint of delay, it will cover a lot of your bases, and it's big and open sounding, completely different from that typical compressed, nasal PRS tone.

Or maybe one of these with a PU lineup of your choice ?

I bet it's gig bag fits like a glove :tu:
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

There you go, Never tried them but they are his sig model, The low end looks and sounds a bit to lean but that could work well depending on what one want's
Obviously he was certainly not using those back then :D
Thanks !
They should be fine PUs.
Stevens is a tone monster, always has been.
He was using a stock SH-4 back then into 800s, afaik a Rat for lead (not 100% sure about that OD, my cat suggested it )
A tiny bit of multitracking almost goes unnoticed.
Lol,

EDIT :
The cat was right about the Rat.

Uncle E wrote:See, that spring in the middle bothers because it's obviously got less tension on it than the outer springs. Is that a ridiculous concern?

After all this talk, I ended up having to use 4 springs on my strat, anyway, simply because the claw couldn't be screwed in enough to put enough tension on 3 springs (the builder put them in at an angle). I also broke the 9 month old high E so I'm thinking it's time to ditch the heavy bottoms/light tops. I'm trying this next:

Yeah, because I want to do a dive bomb everytime after a solo :hihi:

Start slowly, let me help you.
index finger - 1, easy !
middle finger - 2 (yes, tonight you're allowed to use it)
ring finger - 3 (careful, this one's known to cause trouble)
little finger - hard to say, between 3.83 and 4.17 somewhere :P

How does it sound ?
Listen to anything Steve Morse played over the last 20 year or so

Cheers,

I really do not know/can not answer that one, It just works for me. I will have a look and take a pic of all the other guitars when i can and see whats what/If there are different spring block to spring claw variety as it were. I am pretty sure some of them are simple 3 spring again but straight on the 1st, 3rd and 5th positions. One might even have the low side straight and the high side angled in like this: | |\. If they are like they are it will mean that is how i like them on each guitar/It feels and plays right for my needs minus tuning problems :) Not an exact science admittedly in my case

Seems like it does the job and yeah i am sure its paramount to hit or tug on the bar as a manual string bend is doing the same exact thing a bar bend is doing, Logical (strat-type through to floyd and Ibanez jobs even though the out of tune thing is less once the locks are down on a floyd that is in tune it still goes out when bending and out of tune is out of tune)

Hope that one will cure the issue and its worth trying and costs nothing except your time

This one, and his five part series where he goes into the details, exactly confirm what I wrote above, point for point.
The only thing he adds in pt.4 is how to mod the trem itself to PRS specs, hard to DIY, easier to put in a 6 screw Wilkinson or Gotoh 510.
I still would have liked to see that perfect bitch he always mentions. :(
Maybe his trade secret ? :wheee:
All in all the best Strat setup guide I've seen anywhere ! :tu:

It has hibidy written all over it.
(we need a :hibidy: smiley )
Perfectly fast neck, totally comfortable to play, like many MMs it feels deceptively small, a complete winner, and Eric could see his modest tonal needs realized. :P
A serious plank of wood ! :tu:
