Great deal I'd gladly buy it but I'm not sure about compatability with alesis io dock. I know amplitude doesn't work at the moment but I would purchase if it will be supported in a future update.

There has been some recent internal discussion to make AmpliTube compatible with the 30 pin digital audio input. This may or may not happen with the release of iOS5. We tested the beta with StealthPlug and camera connection kit and it worked pretty well so if this functionality remains in the official release it looks like there will be news on this subject.

Thank you, I'll look out for the updates and news. That was good to know.

I hope so. I have Amplitube for iPad, but got rid of the iRig device itself because it's noisy as hell. The Apogee Jam is amazing, but doesn't work with your software.

My personal experience with the iRig is different. Noise levels seem to be most dependent on your pickups. The noisier they are, the noisier your guitar signal is going to be. All my guitars have either humbuckers or active single coils, and I don't have any noise issues with iRig. I like that I can charge my iPhone while jamming. It ensures that I don't run out of juice in the middle of a set.

Especially AmpliTube looks like quite a lot of fun. I couldn't care less if people consider it for "serious stuff", but I can see a lot of creative, unexpected things happen in some wild ad-hoc sessions, possibly involving considerable amounts of beer or so :-D Too bad I'm neither a guitarist nor an iPad owner :-(

If you're using Amplitube, it's fine. If you're using GarageBand, you're screwed. It's just the way it is with that type of device. It's not a active vs. passive, single coil vs. humbucker thing.

The fact that the Jam is night and day improvement in noise shows that.
