And last but not least, I tend to prefer well built, high quality gear, and like I wrote above, this does not have to be expensive, especially in the US.
For the cost of such a low end, far east mass product you can still get a real ptp Fender amp, BF or SF, with a virtual lifetime guarantee as they can always be repaired easily, some JCM800 models are in that ballpark, Eric's Anniversary did not cost much more, even Mesas
I take extreme exception to your use of the word 'real'...that is superficial and pretentious now matter how you slice it...
Nope.
Real ptp Fenders meant compared to the PCB "reissues", I can't think of a more appropriate use of the word "real".

stop fighting, folks.
That's not what we're here for. :)
I wasn't fighting until you attacked the amp without know about it...,all I said was what about this and you launch into total bull...you bet dude, I think very highly of you and my feeling towards you have not changed at all(I hope the same holds true witn you) but I think you are a gear snob (dont worry so aren't many of my best friends in other areas and I'm fine with that, in fact I being so different)

We will never agree on this pro stuff you believe in, substitute it with real or anything else you like it boils down to the same thing, but it is the opposiste of how I feel (which is okay). I wont fight about it, I dont want to change, I am not going to change and I am always going to like the gear that works for me no matter who makes it, the name on it, or the pros who use it...all I care about is what I think about it and I'm not going to apologize for that...your post started it and it was out of line.

I'm aggravated by a conversation about an amp I might never care about for one reason and one reason only...I'm stunned and saddened that you would put it down without knowing anything more than you read. I value your word, but if you are willing to judge something without trying it I questiuon that (albeit a very small amount) and I wouldn't say anything if your word and friendship didn't mean a lot to me.

Somehow you overlooked this in that post in question.

And for the rest, I don't believe in miracles.
Even MIC it's not possible to use decent components for an amp with that amount of features at that price point ime, even less so since it's not built in big numbers like e.g. Jet City.
And then, some of the marketing speak showed so little knowledge of what counts in a guitar amp  , it just begged for a little sarcasm.

That's my silly side, sure, but if you look beyond the stupid jokes you'll hopefully find a message that makes sense most of the time, at least I try my best.

we dont know if it's built in big numbers (I beleieve it was just announced this year*), we dont know about it...I didn't miss what you said I saw it as a :?: I think the word scam should have been left out but perhaps you too should think about taking a lesson from this and if you read my posts (between the flares) I think instead of being so cynical maybe you should at least be open minded...call me an idealist, but what if they can make a decent amp at that price with those features and instead of assuming it must be crap maybe it's setting a new bar...or maybe it's crap...you don't know, I dont know. So I keep an open mind and dude I have found over 40 years probably well over 90% of the time that has come to the sensible choice...having known me long enough wouldn't you agree that when I break open my wallet I tend to make good choices for em? Even more so do you not have the same respect in me that I have for your opinon making such a 'message' doesn't need to be made to me and perhaps given that insight it might appear you wee talking down to me as if I dodn'yt have a clue? Truthfully I am pretty critical of all gear I buy and I hope you have respect for my gear knowledge because I do know what I wam talking about most of the time (none of us are perfect though)

*another thing announced this year by a company you ironically named is the jet city iso cab. Want to talk about big numbers, I have been keeping a space in my budget for that cab since this year began and every month the release has been kicked back...maybe no one can make a decent iso cab for tha price either...but I am still trying to keep an opne mind (it's getting tough though)

Completely unrelated to my previous comments which were speculations about the build quality, not tone :
Going by these two clips I do not like these amps at all sonically, sorry to say.
A few clean sounds were ok-ish, nothing special, most amps will be useable with clean arpeggiated chords.
Even with light OD, this side of AC DC, the amp tends to fart out badly on the low strings, coupled with an unholy, constipated compression.
Chords lack all definition, even at these conservative gain levels.
At least the SG jr is not guilty of this behaviour, very transparent guitars for overdriven chording.
The higher registers are not that bad but have a bit of that vintage Amplitube I harshness at times.

This is purely what I hear in these clips, but both are from different sources and show similar behaviour.

I absolutely enjoyed the bits of "heavy metal amp" and "wiping the floor with an AC30" , yeah, right ...

Ok, another negative, sarcastic post about Albion amps, but hey, it's my honest opinion based on one ad and these two clips.

Ymmv definitely, and my tastes might not be mainstream, so feel free to ignore. :)

Cheers,
susiwong

as long as we're being sarcastic, just curious...how is it you didn't balk at the chinese built Ampeg for 500 dollars? Could it be because it was a

One more word and I'm biting your head off! :x

;)

There are some raucous, over-the-top grungy tones in both clips. It's not my cup of tea but if someone's going for a Nirvana "Bleach"-era tone, it's right there in that second clip.

HAH!!!

And I get accused of being cynical.... :help: :hihi:

@ Hink,
nothing I wrote even remotely judged your knowledge and decisions ...
I would have written word for word the same if somebody else had brought up this amp.
I'm here to have fun and discuss stuff with friends and colleagues, stating my opinion openly, maybe sometimes sarcastic and exaggerated for effect, but I never even think in terms of voicing or judging an other person's opinion, knowledge or taste. This is not my responsibility ...
You state your opinion, everybody else state theirs, I say mine, together we have a discussion, hopefully including some fun and a bit of learning, too.
I'm learning all the time from you guys, if not I probably would not be here so often. :tu:
And it's fun, too. :hihi:
Goes without saying I agree to some stuff and disagree to some other things, that's the nature of the beast.
I do my best (and typically succeed 8) ) to keep personal aspects completely separate from discussion topics, no hidden agendas or stuff.
And occasional jokes adressing somebody personally are a sign of friendship  , I tend to ignore or openly confront people I don't respect and like. :-o
I know I'm strange, but we all are to varying degrees.

Peace,
susiwong

EDIT : about the Ampeg, simply hadn't looked at it closely.
You can't comment everything, I guess I haven't even got around to mention how much I'm interested in these new Eminence speakers :tu:
No special reason other than that ...

Believe it or not, writing one of these long posts takes time, once I'm done I try to catch up with what happened in the last 37 minutes ...
I hadn't read your opinion, it's just as valid as everybody else's or even mine ...

One humble request though :
You can have my head for dessert after your hat, but please serve with a nice hot sauce and some garlic ! :hihi:

Good call about the Nirvana connection, I see where you're coming from, not my personal picture of great tone, but hey, why not ?
To each his own, plain and simple, no hidden afterthoughts.
That's what is meant by ymmv.

Cheers,
susiwong
