I just played the Vox TB35C2:

http://www.voxamps.com/us/tb35c/

My favorite amp of all time was my '63 Deluxe and I always thought the original Bruno Underground 30 was a brilliant take on the brownface sound. Where the Underground 30 was like a brownface crossed with an AC30, this is like a brownface Deluxe crossed with a blackface Deluxe Reverb.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Now we're talking ...
Here's a better clip imho

Seriously nice tones !
Unlike the Albion, here the grungy bass can obviously be dialed out
unfortunately we're getting screwed once again with the price over here in Europe, even factoring in the tax.
So I guess this one will be put on the s/h watchlist, maybe a CCH will be first, they really grew on me after a friend's horrible stock clunker turned into a nice little tone machine with a bit of tweaking

EL34 based...very simple..to me it has a god tone...mind you..over this compressed youtube thing the one I seen there is definitely brighter and more dynamic..

I see you have found Jack Black :hihi: or gearmandude (Its not really Jack Black but it is as far as i am concerned, He hates reverb on his amps also which i can relate to. Always sports the most sweet cowboy-like boots also, I want me a pair of them). His demos are as a rule pretty good, This one looks old though. I do not know anything about that amp or any other Jaguars but if you like it and the price is right ;) (and her in doors won't give you too much grief!)

Edit: Kind of reminds me of this which is a very nice amp:

Actually I think the Plexi 18/20 Combo or the Maz Jr might be a closer match, all 3 share a 2x EL84 power amp afaics, making them perfectly suited for club use unless you need perfectly clean tones at high volume, which is not what these amps are designed for anyway.
Still, far too loud for bedroom use. :scared:

mmmmmm...interesting..... 8)
okay I finally watched these and besides thinking this guy is a bit :nutter: (which is a good thing) I'm not sure much can be gained the videos. Here's my problem, on the first one I hearing the 100 watt model not really all that cranked as far as I can tell but the second video is more about the sound of the amp and it's the 35 watt and I have a huge problem with the sound. However without being able to objectively describe what my issue with the sound is the best I can say is it's the color and texture. The old Tusc amps come to mind a little bit, but they were (imo) just really bad hybrids. The objection I have is most associated in my mind with speakers in combo amps I dont like which is odd because the 2x12 I use to have with fanes was a tusc and sounded nice.

I found this release so yeah these amps are new, maybe crap or maybe setting a new standard.

Albion Amplifiers is a new venture between Steve Grindrod and Richie Onori. Steve Grindrod has not only held the positions of Chief Engineer and Director of Research and Development at Marshall Amplification but also served as the Vox Managing Director and Chief Designer until 2008. Richie on the other hand has decades of experience in the music product field and his international recognition as a member of the multi-platinum group The Sweet.

Albion Amplifiers' entire product line is produced in their Shenzhen, China facility and it is reported to be one of the largest custom designed electronics and audio manufacturing facilities in the world staffing 2000 full time employees. But here is the difference, this is a quote from Steve Grindrod taken from the Albion Amplifiers website:

It is no secret that our products are built in Shenzhen, China. But what we would like you to appreciate is that we actually own our factory. It is also probably the most heavily invested and integrated audio factory on the planet. I live here, next to the factory, full time, and work side by side with my manufacturing team on a daily basis. This enables me to constantly monitor products as they are built. To the best of my knowledge there is no other guitar amp company who can claim this, especially those brands who build in China using an unknown O.E.M. factory.
To me that is a fair price and I'm not going to judge a piece of gear's value by what I perceive the cost to be to make it but rather the value it is to me as a piece of gear relatively speaking. That's in my range price wise, I'm not in the market at this time for any 50 or 100 watt amps or any kind of future return on my investment.

The other amps I have naturally have other factors like the guitars and pedals I use that give them more appeal for me, my ts clone sounds great...how would it sound in front of this? I'm not looking to jump on any such amp right now, early next year maybe but it could be another Frenzel. The Frenzels I am eyeing are 40 watts, 15 watts and 25 watts, I want them modded with 1/2 power switches and they are all within the same price area (most of them 50 dollars less without a cab).

So besides maybe a picovavlve for tube swapping fun I'm not exactly eyeing this kind of amp right now. I kinda like the unfinished look of the frenzel without a cabinet (though one day I will make something), it suits who I am very well and it's not like I'm taking it anywhere.

However, this new amp is not to be dismissed in my eyes and down the road given the chance I would like to spend some time with it. I think no matter what I would find tones I like and could get inspired by so i'll keep it on the 'who knows?' list

Part of the "farting out" I complained about above in fact might be speakers, but tubes, cheap output tranny and power supply are among the usual suspects, too, I'm afraid.
My SF Deluxe Reverb was suffering badly from the same disease like many small Fenders, it took me years and a lot of trial and error to bring out the classic tone in that little beast. Now it sounds great though ...

Although quite a bit different from the brownface Deluxe I'm talking about, that 6SL7-preamped Retro Deluxe looks seriously cool! What I'd really like to see is a straight up '63 Deluxe with reverb, which even the Vox's don't cover. Does anyone know of anything like that?

The bass knob makes it sound big, not grungy, and dialing it all the way down results in a killer focused crunch that doesn't sound at all thin with a tele. The bass boost is just plain silly on the 2x12" but I imagine it might be useful on the 1x12".

I played a Jaguar amp at the last NAMM show. It wasn't this model but the one I played was really good, easily in the top 10% or 20% of amps I've played.

Do not know if this is any help Eric, But they are very friendly and would probably build it or at least put a kit together, The finished products are top draw FWIW: http://www.torresamps.com/torres_amp_designs.htm

Too good for me :x Nah just not my thang except i do like the Marshall 'Mesa' mod that Torres had going but tbh i would just by a Bugera to get a 'cheap' recto as yep build quality is not the same with Bugera against Mesa by along shot but the 333 gets so close it would not be an issue for my needs really for peanuts in comparisson

Edit: These maybe, Its in $ so i presume US based:

Maybe not from the first video but the second video is more accurate than most.

Confirmed, it's impossible to crank a 100 watter all the way up at a trade show.
but the second video is more about the sound of the amp and it's the 35 watt and I have a huge problem with the sound. The digital reverb makes me think it's made in the same factory as the Bugera amps. Why this is relevant here is because the smaller Bugera amps (V5, V22, and V55) also sound like hybrids (the Bugera BC-30 is the only one I've tried that I liked).
To me that is a fair price and I'm not going to judge a piece of gear's value by what I perceive the cost to be to make it but rather the value it is to me as a piece of gear relatively speaking. Dude, just get another Frenzel! That Mini Bassman looks sick!

You'll just have to accept that we're not all as open-minded as you. ;)
