If you get it, add one of these:

am I reading this right...when I saw the price was 56 dollars I was a little surprised but....
Must be used with a Sta-Tuner, listed below.

It Just Works Great!!!

The String-Lock must be installed with a Sta-Tuner.

The String-Lock is free floating on the strings with no need to attach it to the body of the guitar.

String-Lock is the devise that prevents any guitar from going out of tune while being played.

Sta-Tuner is now a necessity and works in concert with String-Lock.
and it seems that the sta tuner is either 160 or 200 dollars? I'm confused

ooh I like that one
Hard to get info about the Sta-Tuner.
Wonder how it works.
I wonder what I want in here

The String-Lock locks the strings behind the nut, the Sta-Tuner is a bridge with fine tuners.

but it says in big letters on the top of the page you must use the lock with the sta tuner or are they saying if you do not have fine tuners you must use the sta-tuner...it's rathe vague about that

edit: the two come together in the kit not 56 dollars plus the price of the sta-tuner, I see that

hmm,
then it would be fine just to use the Floyd Rose on the Charvel perhaps?
And just get the floating lock at the nut?

Well, the String-Lock has to be used with a bridge with fine tuners. I like their String Release which even works with acoustics, though not as effectively as the String-Lock:

Anyway, I just read in the Charvel specs that it DOES use a locking nut, it just somehow went missing from the picture.

I kind of figured that about the charvel, but string lock looks interesting (bookmarked) :tu:

 it already and perfect in weight for me...
Oh yeah not forgetting that Ibanez MTM1 or MTM2 first though

Meh 'compound radius shitboard' and well maple board would be good against the mahogany IMHHO. Still i shall have a go before ruling one out or even it could be the hardtail i am missing...Time will tell
I love the CR. I don't know if the ibbys I have are CR or not but there is a certain something about the charvel.

At the emg guys, do you keep your pups up as far to the strings as you can? They seem to recommend that but would love some thoughts :)

Not as close as i could/or as far up as i could because of the OD pedal used to hit an amps front end (not really overdrive at all more like volume full, drive/gain 2/3 and tone to personal taste) plus with bar abuse the strings do hit the pickup too quick hibidy mate :)

Looking forward to trying one of the desolation models and i may even go for the single-cut in hardtail configuration as it will keep me in 25.5" scale-length (important to me) whilst offering the benefits of a LP type. I am speculating at the moment though as wallet is full of shrapnel and i don't do credit cards. The surfcaster/skatecaster is on the must, must try list either way :D

thanks guys!

haha, between here and ibby I got two no's and one yes (I guess you could count emg as "yes" too....)

I don't think mine are too close, but

like all of these things there is no right answer, you do what's best for you...in rock and roll rules are meant to be broken imho

Oh true

I'm not unhappy with them, just worried that some of the more esoteric tuning issues (high frets/high strings) were at play. I know the output isn't much...just dotting my "i's" and crossing my "t's"

Hink and hibidy, get this, the EMG's and Afterburner come pre-installed:
