The upcoming plugin isn't a pitch shifter. The pitch shifting and reversed sounds you hear are pure accident. I have pitch shifting code that reverses (I use it in Shimmer), but I'm not using that code in this plugin. Maybe the one after this one...jonahs wrote:New plugin?! Reverse! Pitch shifting?! :setscashaside: I dunno, I think it sounds nice( or useable is a better term)except the chipmunk vocals. Uhh, separate outs for the pitch up and pitch down would be gold.
You'll have to worry about Nick Drake's lawyers, but not mine.I reversed it and the "normal" lush fade out sounds gorgeous as a fade in.I sampled it and also a bit of the pitched up melody. Is that Nick Drake or do I have to worry about your lawyers?
I've done reverbs and echos in the past where the decay is mapped to the input volume, for dynamic gating. The calculations in VRoom would be WAY too calculated, but I'll keep it in mind for a future plugin.Do you know the (apocryphal?)story about the recording of Heroes? With the three mics at different distances? It's a pretty useful technique. Plus, w/ software you can use way more than 3 verbs! Shimmer went from my cool to useful list when I tried this method. Gotta buy it soon too!
It'd be cool to have a reverb that does this automatically (w/ side chaining?). It's not super difficult to set up with software, but it is the kinda semi-boring stuff I wish the computer and a smart programmer figured out for me.Just throwing it out there.
