With all the money you'll be spending on plugins, why not just get an OB-8 off of ebay or something? Not trying to sound disrespectful, just a suggestion. Also, a little OT but where did you get flintlock Juno 106? I can't find it anywhere.

The closest you can get to an vintage analog mono synth is definitely in Trilian if you ask me. The synth sound sources are just excellent. The sampled oscillators have a richness that is still tough to reproduce in dsp I believe. Although I do also like many other synth emulations.

A couple that are excellent emulations of classic synths but that aren't actually modelled after a single synth would be Audiorealism Semi-Modular and Admiral Quality Poly-Ana.

I asked about it here and a nice guy uploaded it for me, it's available here.

I really would like to buy a real vintage synth but they're quite expensive on eBay. There's a guy on eBay, he's selling vintage synths in a really great condition! Right now there are still offers which include the Roland Jupiter-8, Moog Minimoog, Roland TR-808, Korg M1, Roland D50, OSC OSCar, Oberheim OB-12, Korg Trident, Elka Synthex and even the Yamaha CS-80!!!

GForce doesn't make an ARP2600. Only an Odyssey (Oddity).

I haven't seen this one mentioned:

Herman Seib PPG Emulator

It's not really analog, but it's certainly an interesting emulation.

And this long forgotten DX7 hybrid:

The prices nowdays are absolutely ridiculous. When I look at my Sound On Sound magazine classifieds from 1999, my heart misses a beat, when I see those prices (ie: cheap as chips). Supply and demand, I suppose.

But there are new hardware analogue synths around, which, perhaps not cheap, are still cheaper than the vintage ebay rip offs. The benefit of the new gear is its reliability, which you can't always get with second hand gear, even if the seller guarantees 100% perfection (been there).

I agree. I just got a Moog Slim Phatty rack for 799 Euros new. Try to get a comparable vintage Moog synth at EBay for that price.

Anyway there is still some stuff which is sold quite cheap like e.g. Waldorf Pulse.

Yeah, I know that site, I got some Juno samples from there and also some LinnDrum samples. I really love Spacesynth music like Laserdance, Koto etc. Thank you anyway.

Yep, I know that, I just mixed GForce and Way Out Ware somehow... :?

Are these new hardware synths actually capable of these warm 80's analog sounds? Well, I don't think it's possible to create such a sound on the Ultranova for example, that's why I'm using it as a MIDI controller for the soft synths hoping to get that 80's analog sound. There are many presets on the soft synths mentioned in the list which have some nice analog sounds.
Although there's a preset called "Jump!" which features that Oberheim sound from Van Halen. Do the new Moogs have some analog 80's feeling in them?

'Warm'? I'd say yes, just with a different timbre. Check out stuff by Analogue Solutions for example.

Imagine:
-DSI Tetra + add a vintage sounding chorus and phaser effect = your vintage poly synth. Add an HPF in the mix to emulate synths from Roland et al which had HPF built in.
-Analogue Solutions Leipzig-S
-Analogue Solutions Semblance or Telemark or in its place if £ allow the new Oberheim SEM
-Vermona Monolancet
-DSI MEK or PEK for the Prophet V like sounds (in addition to more analogue sounds which this is capable of as well)
- some MFB stuff...

You'd have a fab sounding analogue rig, and if you can't get enough warmth of that lot, then... you know what they say... :D

You probably didn't read my first post huh?

Another thing I need to know:

I want to know how I can comfortably control the drum machine while playing a synth. In this case it's Arturia Spark. I want to play like the guy in this video.

So I have OP-X PRO-II prepared with the needed sound and the Arturia Spark with the drums. Now I need to control them both in real time. That guy is using an Oberheim DMX as the drum machine but it looks like he doesn't control it at all so that it's a complete pattern running and that's it. But maybe he has a foot controller or something? Even with Arturia's Spark MIDI controller it's difficult because I always need to take one hand of the keyboard to select a fill-in for example. That's very complicated, is there an easy way?

Vintage synths are still available. I have a few of them, and a friend of mine has hundreds of them filling his entire house. The problem is that you're looking on KVR -a software forum- for vintage hardware. Check out the muffwiggler or electro-music forums, Analogue Heaven mailing list, places like that. Ebay is not your friend!

Thinking about it now, it strikes me that no one has ever done a proper emulation of the D-50. Not just a sample set, but a true emulation. I suppose it wouldn't be worth all the development effort because Roland would sue them into oblivion the moment it was released. Ah well...
