What the creator doesnt realize, is how many of us who could kill for a ARP2600, but wont ever be able to afford one. (borrowed one, but thats as close as i will ever get) Then, this guy turns up, also a 2600-lover, and make something that is almost spot on. Answer to a lot of preys!
There is still nothing as close as this one.
Then, not giving us a single reason, explanation on WHY on earth he refuse to even touch it anymore (and it neeeeds it). I feel he own us that much. Especially as i, and many other 2600-lovers, have spread the word about TWARP all over the place, for free. just out of love for it.
Don't he see what a beast he have under his fingertips? Which a half decent plan/structure/help it could sell like butter. Don't he see that?
Im sorry! But this is beyond me. Been trying so hard to understand, and it really gets to me like nothing else.

Maybe there's more $$$ in iOS apps. Very frustrating. I wish he could pass on the code to another company, like XILS or Gforce.... so we could have the unmatched beautiful sound of TW2600 with a better GUI and better stability! I can dream can't I?steffensen wrote:Then, not giving us a single reason, explanation on WHY on earth he refuse to even touch it anymore (and it neeeeds it). I feel he own us that much. Hmmm...About a week ago I used the contact form on the Timewarp website to ask Jim about any updates, especially an AU validation fix for 2600. No response!

About 7 months ago i was about to buy TWARP (again), second hand tho, but Jim never replied to either me or the seller, so we couldnt proceed. This is just shameful behaviour imo.

August has been a but crazy, so sorry about the lack of response to this message. I have been out of town a lot.
To the point about the AU validation, ... I am about to release the first update to TimewARP 2600 in quite a while. This update focuses on providing 64-bit AU support on Mac and also corrects a few other issues. I am just completing my own round of testing and I should have a public beta on the site in a few days.
It has been really fun to get back into TimewARP 2600 development.
I will post more info soon.
Best regards,
Jim

As said earlier in the thread, i tried to buy the TWARP from a guy in here, and we both emailed you, with no response for the license transfer.
I do wish you would read this thread, and feel how much love we all have for your creation. I personally nag so much about this & that, because i care a lot.

I guess it's pretty safe to say this one is vaporware.

As a professional user of TimewARP I would like to see a great ARP 2500 emulation. I won't repeat all the other comments on the site as they are all valid.TimewARP wrote:Hi All,
I have created a new thread to discuss the features that are most desired in a version 2 of TimewARP 2600(http://www.wayoutware.com/twarp.html). It has been a while since I have dug into TimewARP 2600, and I think it has been long enough. I plan to produce an update that will enhance the product, however, I don't want to forget that at it's heart, TimewARP 2600 is an ARP 2600.
Here is the list of features proposed so far in the other thread:
1. Step Sequencer/Sequencers... (let's define this because I have had a lot of people ask for more than a just a 1601...)
2. Colored Cables with transparency, or some way to hide them to see what is behind them.
3: New effects... If it is just post effects, I would find that boring because you can just chain existing VSTs... Effects that you could patch through might be interesting though. Please propose what you think would be good. I know a lot of people have desired a Limiter, and different filter modes/types.
4. Bigger UI option for larger monitors. For the record... I hate(or should I say seriously dislike) UI's that make you scroll to get places as is found in the 2600v... I prefer tabs... The problem there is cables... What are your thought?
5. (From poona) How about adding a high quality mode where it uses higher degree of oversampling? CPU is cheap nowadays compared to when TimewARP 2600 was first released.
6. <please fill in the blank>
As I said in the other thread, a project like this will take a bit of time. I cannot say when, or if it will be available... I guess that will depend on what kind of response I see here.
This is the first time I have tried to start a thread to discuss product development on KVR, so please be kind.
Best regards,
Jim
You did a great job with the current ARP emulation and it beats Arturia's dismal effort by a long mile - and yes a sequencer. Or you could offer switchable modules --- like what CMS does for real ARPS ---- how about the ARP 2500 then?
You could add a spring reverb that is physically modeled so that I could hit it with a virtual "hammer" or kick it with my virtual foot
Cheers!
