Tonal harmony and mozart 40 symphony in G minor

so I am learning music.. Trying to analyze and compose with what I know..

does mozart symphony 40 in G minor.. Is just the G minor scale? since its tonal I guess he just uses g minor for chords and everything??

Little suggestion....if you are just learning music, perhaps start with something more basic than Mozart Symp 40.

I think at this point the Oak Ridge Boys might be a bit of a reach. Can you start with maybe learning scales, intervals and keys?

Well it's tonal but it's really chromatic. First take a whack at something like this...



Have a good book on tonal harmony to guide you? I heartily recommend it, otherwise you'll come up with a rather "Mel Bay" way of looking at things which will mis-lead you.

A on the GS has a lot of chromaticism. Even this Clementi thing modulates to the dominant, which might knock an abject beginner out of the ring.

yeah actually it has, by the definition of my schooling; it mixes E minor in a lot. my bad.
