MW Software's 'D-Pad' is a great iPad drum machine but limited by a number of bugs and problems that the devs need to address:

1. The software does not currently respond to changes in the orientation of the iPad (except the 'info' page). It is the 'wrong way up' by convention.
2. There are ?bugs displaying the kits on first running the software
3. Where is the audio export/audiocopy?

C'mon... This would be great if it had basic functionality other than just sounding fantastic!

I don't know about that one. Look in my sig to see the ones I use, they all work great....

C'mon... This would be great if it had basic functionality other than just sounding fantastic!

What makes this one stand out in your opinion?

I just got this, and there was an update available today that fixed the orientation issue.
There is a link to the manual on the Dev Page. To get the exported audio:
connect iPad to iTunes, go to device
select apps tab
select D-Pad and you will see the file in the 'File Sharing' section at bottom of screen.

I like it because of it's ease of use, and it definitely has a unique sonic character. Tried making the exact same beats in Logic, and somehow they just sounded better on D-Pad.

The sound is good - the kits are like something from a good hardware drum machine such as a Boss or an Alesis rather than just the usual 'emulation' kits found in some other apps. The word 'crisp' comes to mind...
