Sometimes i demand myself too much without reason.
Well, people still could use the whole wall.
Remember note to everybody. More tracks = More prizes.
Have a good day

Hi folks,
this is my entry for the OSC31 on KVR:
PocVecem - z3t4pØp
http://soundcloud.com/pocvecem/pocvecem-z3t4p-p/
A rather hard style electro-pop sawbass & flanger/phaser orgy at 150 bpm.
Always wanted to make a track with this farty sawbass/lead.
Started with this song on 15th August after I dumped my first attempt.
About 20 hours composing/programming/mixing.
Host:
Cubase 6.03 32bit on Windows7 64bit
AMD PhenomII X6 1090T
27 x z3ta+ V1.5.3 (5 x drums + 22 x instruments/fx)
27 midi tracks + 35 automation tracks
EQ:
Cubase built-in channel EQ on all tracks
Send FX:
1 x Kjaerhus Classic Delay (hihats)
1 x VoS epicVerb (ambience on snare)
Inserts:
1 x Kjearhus Classic Compressor on bassdrum
1 x VoS DensityMkII on drum subgroup
1 x VoS DensityMkII on bass subgroup
All other fx are from z3ta+.
Masterchain:
VoS RescueAE -> VoS DensityMkII -> Cubase EQ -> VoS Ferric TDS -> TLs Maximizer
Additives (petroleum-free lubricants):
Balvenie Doublewood 12 years
No sampling, freezing or bouncing. Song is playing in realtime.
Normalised to -0.3dB, mp3 encoding: lame 3.9.8, VBR, highest quality settings
And always the same old song: downloaders will have more fun listening!
Play it loud and all the best,
Gerald

Anyway the other pic you had was not bad, it had a retro-minimalistic touch. I liked too.
At last more entries, as i said 28th day is crucial.
I have prepared Soul Thriller track too, but i dunno yet if use it for the contest or not. A double entry could be a double edged weapon.
Maybe if we reach 15 tracks, i will upload mine to get 16 at the last moment.
Let's see...

Maybe there's time for a second track for me, too. No matter about the "double edged weapon" issueIrionDaRonin wrote:

Y'know, with the "double-edged sword" thing, maybe anonymous submissions are the way forward. I'd love to do a second track, but I've spent nearly 25hrs on mine and I'm behind on website work. Can't wait to get these on my Nano and go for a long ride. Love this comp.

I listened to all the tracks yesterday and left comments on soundcloud player. A handful of tracks sound similar and by that I mean sound-wise not composition or theme-wise. It's understandable when stock presets are used and I guess that's what happened here. Not a bad thing, z3ta has so many fantastic presets. I slept at around 3AM last night, still working on it. Not sure if I can make it this time. Only if I was talented like you guys.
Don't feel like going to work today, feeling sleepy
. Someone call my manager please and tell him to declare holiday today

Just out of curiosity: I had some really strange feedbacks and distortions with Z3ta+ v1.5.3 which almost killed my ears and speakers. Just saved, closed Cubase and then reopened the project and the ear-gremlins were gone!
Had this one time when listening to the almost final version very (very!) loud. I almost had a heart attack! My cat, too!
Did anyone have the same problem? I don't mean the cat but the loud feedback.

when i was doing my song, some presets mostly in the v13 library would cause the track or even the master to automute in reaper.it showed peak levels of as much as +500 db. The "Hi" preset was particularly nasty.

Are those Mutt Muffs available in red? Leo is very choosey. Plus a pair of safety glasses just in case the speakers blow up.
I will wear a motorcycle helmet when mastering with z3ta next time. Possibly the high frequencies could be a bit loud then.
Is there a speaker correction plug in for this case?
@sly fly: Indeed I used some sounds from the v13 library. Tweaked one of the hihat presets. Totally forgot that there is a modified version of the old soundbanks available somewhere. Thanks a lot!

you're welcome. good to know the high hats worked out for you.
I think half the time I spent on the song, I was searching for a way to get a high hat sound that I would like. I eventually gave up.
