Hi!

I guess some of you have already seen it in the music cafe but I think it is a good idea to post it here too :)
I made a small EP just with U-He plugins (and a limiter). I tried to show how good and versatile U-He plugins are :)

Here is the music cafe thread (and the music of course :hihi:): http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4629345

I hope some of you like it!
And sorry for the double post!

Cheers
Dennis

Thanks again for the good music Dennis.
That last all ACE thing you did, blew me away really.
That was a great one.

While I much prefered the experimental tracks to the more classic dance ones, that Microcosm part 1 really is some track man! :D
The weird atmosphere really surrounds you before catching you with emotions (great background fx's btw)... Hats off mate :tu: The track for me is really a level above the others.
I'd be curious to know which tracks took you longer to produce and which were made faster?

Production wise, I think on the whole it could have been improved a little, but considering you're using just a few plug-ins, though I'd consider myself being picky here since the ep sounds good anyway. I heard much worst stuff released...:hihi:

Thanks for sharing.

I don't really think it's because "just a few plug-ins" were used.
Sometimes when making a track you may focus on details or get to make all of the sounds and maybe your CPU is pushed to the limits and you just wanna see the darn track done already... or something like that.

Anyway I found some of the songs to be pretty cool... and most of them great if listen from another perspective.
Distance and Millenium are possibly my favorites from this EP.

I also thought of making at least a song using only u-he products, hope to get doing that one day.. and soon enough! :)

Thanks :)

I really tried my best to mix the tracks properly but I'm used to EQuality and The Glue as mixing tools and the jump to Uhbik-Q and Zebrify (as compressor) was a bit hard :hihi:
Sorry that I wasn't really successfull with the mixing :(
Definitely my fault. It _IS_ possible to make better mixes with the U-He plugins!

The CPU usage wasn't really a problem here....sort of :hihi:
Since I can always just play 1 VSTi before my CPU freezes :hihi:
Zebra is the excepetion since it doesn't use that much CPU (I can still not play some patches polyphonically though).
I always have to do it like this:
Tweak sound -> Freeze -> Listen -> Unfreeze -> Repeat :hihi:

I don't know which track took the most time. I guess it was Dustland.

Thanks for the comments again :)

You dont have to be sorry As I said, the mix is already good, considering you didn't even use a proper EQ/compressor. I'm sure if you used glue and equality, you'd ended up with superiro results. Butr I get that was not the point.
No offense nor negativism were intended here, I knew a was being picky. Just made myself the remark (noticing little details here and there) so wanted to share it.
Thanks for the comments again :)
Thank YOU Dennis, for the music.

Thank YOU Dennis, for the music.
Thanks again for the nice words :)

It's good that you mention the mix! I'll pay more attention to it in the next EP! I won't start it until I finally get MFM2 though :)

Thanks :)

Really great to know that many people seem to like the more experimental tracks since this is the kind of music I usually make and enjoy :)
