The question is, would I even use it when I already have Reaktor, Synthmaker, Synthedit, a Nord Modular G2, and a rather large eurorack modular. Trying to get my GAS under control. Decisions...
I think KarmaFX is a good, straightforward software modular. If you're looking for something inexpensive that's easy to patch and go (as opposed to using DSP functions in Reaktor/SE/SM) it's a great choice.

I also own VAZ Modular and Tassman 4. Lately I've been trying modular demos of all sorts including BLOK, Sonigen, AudioMulch, Bidule, Pure Data, Reaktor, Processing, SuperCollider, ChucK, and CSound.

I still prefer VAZ Modular to everything else I've tried. Especially for doing crazy things with clock/gate/sequencer signals and emulating Buchla/Serge kinds of complex/random modulations & waveforms, VAZ has an immediacy I haven't found in any other software. That said, I'm totally GAS-ing for Madrona Labs' Aalto semi-modular. But I'm sure glad I got KarmaFX at 35% off!

Well, I ordered the synth yesterday and I didn't recieve any message back.

Send a mail, no response so far.

Am I unpatient (with other synths it took never longer than a few minutes to revieve a confirmation from the makers, so I think I am not) or is Karma on a little holiday?

Post

Iam really ashamed of myself. It was in a spambox!
Sorry, Karma!

I feel myself a noob!

Interesting tidbit for those who don't know: This synth is portable, so you can run it and Reaper (or energy-XT) from a floppy disk (correction, Flash drive), and use it no matter where you are. :-)

Note: I'm surprised no one caught that slip. ;-)

Any plans for this to go 64bit ? Would be pretty cool if it did :D

@Winstontaneous
Have you used it successfully on a mac laptop? I tried the demo a while back and liked it, but I got some pretty regular crashes. I don't think it's been updated and I can't run the demo again.

I have not.
I thought I'd be getting a laptop in July but now October is more realistic.
KarmaFX runs very well on Windows XP for me. My wife has an older MacBook that I've been meaning to install it on, but I've had very little free time lately.

Looking at the Karma forum I see a number of Mac issues, including osc tuning problems at higher sample rates, and crashes when deleting modules. Might want to post a bug report if you can reproduce the behavior.

How do you know this?

I've asked him about it twice in the last few months and he didn't even respond.

He posted about it in the karmafx forum back in december, showed a screenshot of the x64 beta running
