your hands (unnopposable thumbs and all) don't smell too good :hihi:

Too much division, not enough Diversion. :)

Before this thread gets locked:

Sches,

Excellent synth. Keep up the great work!

Post

I like the filters.

A very quick example

IBTL LOL bManic Vs Teksonik

I thought they both had some valid points but Teksonik missed bManic's point on purpose I guess. :help:

P.S.

Maybe they should split threads like this?!?

As a potential buyer (I love Diversion), I have to agree that it's overpriced. Factor in local taxes (20% VAT) & it's still $200 @ intro price.

As a comparison (don't shoot me :help:), when I bought Zebra for $199 it had already had 7+ years of development (it was a truly refined product at this stage, I don't think anyone would disagree), so I don't think development time is enough to justify the expense, IMHO.

I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for a revised price or sale, but just can't convince myself to drop that sort of money, even though I believe in the product

Good luck :tu:

I think that Tek didn't missed the point; but in a whole thread he missed this:
Teksonik wrote: it's clearly not for you so just leave it alone....
so I guess you can move on as well...
it makes no sense for you to contiune with this thread....
if you don't like the synth why stay?
makes no sense to me to continue participating in a thread about a synth you don't like
I've got a half dozen more years of tweaking on you
Ears are those things on the side of the head that allow people to hear if something sounds good or not....yours are apparently filled with a foreign substance....most likely fecal in nature...
is the whole idea just to troll or to grace us with your imaginary superior sense of hearing?
no, you just don't get the concept of "different" so just move on
Diversion is clearly not for you.....try Charlatan instead.........
move on to another resturant
You don't like it? Then move on....it's clearly not for you.....
you'd better retreat before you dig yourself a deeper hole...........get it?
Ok here's the deal............... Then don't buy it.........
Now you're just being a Troll...and revealing your ignorance as well.........move on.......
the person who doesn't like the game can go find something else to play...........
Life sucks get a helmet.......
perhpas quality is something certain people are just not used to hearing.
when Monkeys start to throw feces the lock can't be far behind
I understand that he likes this synth a lot. But he is obviously (forgive me for this notice) not a very good PR...

By The Way

I dont really mind about this competition

My personal opinion is that this synth simply sounds GREAT

and it inspired me a lot , so that now i am starting a new song on cubase;

I am sure that, with some refinements and advices, Dmitry will manage to make this synth better than Sylenth1

Post

Had a short play with Diversion now. Can't really say if i like it or not but the presets are really great IMO, especially the pads.
For me the digital sounds really stand out on this, the more analog style sounds
are a bit average based on a lacking proper analog filter.
The clarity of the digital sounds reminds me a bit of the Waldorf synths (which is one reason why i love those...).

The GUI seems to be a bit crowded and lacks a bit of clarity. Hard to see which section does what at the first look (e.g. the filter is not even labeled as such). That "grey on grey" color scheme in the lower part is also not one of the best ideas IMO.

The modulation system with a right-click menu for each knob is really nice.

I would keep the price at the current level of 150$ (or around 179$ with 19% VAT).

Not really, Sylenth1 is almost a "Synth legend" and very popular. Those two synths are not really comparable anyway IMO as they seem to have a different purpose.

Everyone who is being compensated for their posts here, hands up..?

Im now fairly convinced that this is mostly just the greatest one-man marketing blitz ever unleashed on VST land...

+1

I don't mind the discussion (pros/cons) either.

Sad to say, but that's what I really want to hear (as long as it remained rational and productive). I'd prefer to not see that smothered.

I would never expect a developer (Dmitry, in this case) to change his vision for his synth. But even he has ideas for future enhancements/improvements (with limitations, of course), and is looking for feedback. I'd hate to see that squelched.

I like discussion when it has audio examples cause it keeps the conversation grounded. Anyone can make any opinion they want, regardless if it has some merit or balance. Actual audio makes it real.

Sounds good (in more ways than one). :)

This forum needs a "userbase editable troll tab" sometimes :) I would add the last 6 pages ;)(but, bmanic, i really like your polite writing btw) ;)

The UI of this Synth is really one of the best I've ever seen, it's so inspiring. The filters reminds indeed of JD 800, but i like them very much. The dynamic behaviour reminds me in fact of real analog ones ;)I know, the JD 800 is the opposite of analog, I just think about the dynamic behaviour.
We have 32 bit engines, why should we saturate or limit them, even when they are not aliased). No digi saturation please, you could add it if you want resp sches another algo, because of the signal flow ;)

The only point to me about the price is the lack of a track record, I do not know anything about you, sches ;) Your Website claims that you are a good guy, and my ears are telling me the same, but...who are you :) Mmhh, I do not know about your company but what do you think about a intro price period till the first feature requests are established ?
I would say:

Improvement of the visibilty of the envelope selectors
Improvement of the visibility of the knob value points
Envelopes like Zebras V-Slope
More Waveforms
Gate with attack and release and with a longer range
Sample import ;)
Filter and Osc Copy function
Arp Midi Out!

At least I want to say: congrats sches, your baby is a really beautiful one :)
