Good suggestion, thank you very much :) We're finalizing everything right now and the official MixControl Pro public release should be very soon :)

no sweat...to be honest, i only ever scratched the surface of the first version, and i really am lost with some of the practical functionality of the plug

if i knew what i was doing i could offer to help out, but it is ME who is in need of schooling :)

Well, and for that we plan on producing a series of mixing videos to release on the website for people. Of course, all featuring MixControl Pro. Still, there never seems to be enough time in the days lately :)

Thanks to all beta-testers and users who sent in bug reports and feedback, we have closed beta testing for this initial version of MixControl Pro. All MixControl users will receive an e-mail with information about the new version on the day of release :)

Great news! Congratulations!

Can someone please give me a real-world example of how to use the SC-Compressor in this one? Seeing that I cannot set it to multiple input (int/ext) I am confused. Can I use this Frequency band area to do things like DeEssing?

Thanks :)

Oh, TeamDNR please make sure you implement a "Right Click" Midi Learn function per knob. It would be great to easily get the compressor or EQ mapped to a Midi controller for smooth, fun editing. :)

Thanks!

congrats !! :D

I wasn't getting notified of new responses for some reason or another.. Hopefully someone with more knowledge of mixing can answer this for you as well. The internal sidechain signal can be used for mostly the same things that the external input can. The biggest difference is that the external sidechain can allow other elements such as a kickdrum or bassline to dictate what MixControl is affected by. With the input set to internal, you can select a filter type, set the frequency range and gain/volume level and the incoming signal will be affected appropriately.

I wasn't briefed on sidechaining before they asked me to take over the public information role :) Hopefully someone who isn't lost in intricate mixing terminology can help you out with this question - and I hope I didn't get you lost along with me :)

I remember something like this being discussed earlier in this thread... the thing is that only the VST3 version of the plugin has the ext sidech. feature... so, no VST2.4 support for this atm because of the code being time consuming and cluttered to fix... or something like that.

The problem is that I still can't get the VST3 version of the plugin to open without crashing FL Studio 10. :?

Sort of ... YES. Certain people will tell you that a deesser works in the same way as a sidechain compressor but a sidechain filter for the compressor's detector isn't a multiband compressor!
However... it will work just fine ...just run one vocal track at a time.

I don't think the FL Studio host allows VST3, does it? I only very quickly looked over the specs for it, but did not see VST3 support..

Flstudio supports VST3 since 9.03 afaik.I cant find it in the official specs aswell.

From the forums:

http://forum.image-line.com/viewtopic.php?t=44245

Edit, found it, from the FL10 manual:

"FL Studio supports 32 and 64 Bit VST, VST2, VST3. DirectX, DirectX2 and Buzz plugins and our own enhanced proprietary FL Studio native format."

Somehow VST3 does not work in VstHost either ... works fine in Studio One though ...

Ah, very good thank you!

3ee - I noticed a bug report here from the previous beta version that mentions some sort of wrapper for FL Studio - was this in use while testing in this case, or was it the 32-bit version of MixControl in the 32-bit version of FL Studio?
