This is an emulation of an Dallas Rangemaster treble booster, with added controls for tweaking or for use as a full-range booster, an overdrive, and more. It runs in mono or stereo, and has 2x oversampling (always on).

Enjoy, and let me know what you think!

Edit: And, as always, I'm looking for suggestions for other effects to model.

Great! Thanks for sharing.

Character of the sound is very good and I like those tweaking options, and GUI. Good job. :D
Edit: But.. I get loud bursts from time to time (+99.9dB).

Does this happen when you move a control, or is it random? Also, what host are you using?

The last one was made with SynthEdit, so I think that combined with the unusual GUI caused a lot of those problems. This is my first C++ plugin, so I am still figuring out the tricks.

audiovet, were your clicks random or did they happen when you moved a control?

OK, I just tried it out with the following programs:

Xlutop Chainer
Reaper 32-bit
Reaper 64-bit
Kristal
Tunafish

No clicking on any of them, past a little bit of crackle on the Grid Current control. There's not a lot I can do unless I can reproduce the clicking. It could also be a matter of configuration, but again, I can't really help without reproducing the clicks myself. Anyone else have any issues or opinions?

Quickly testing again: it happens when first playing the track, and when switching to stereo (for the first time). Sonar X1 32bit.

Aaah, that does point to one cause. When I was testing, I found that there were clicks when turing the effect on and when switching to stereo. To stop those, I set it to mute the output for a fraction of a second when either of those happened. For some reason, the muting must be clicking in Sonar.

Anyway, I just updated the plugin so it uses an inaudibly short fade-in instead of a mute. Try downloading it again and see if it works.

Same clipping with free VSTHost.
Edit: Ah there's a new version out, thanks!

Edit2: Unfortunately it's still clipping.

I'm not getting any clicking with VSTHost, so that suggests that it's a system or audio interface issue. Try increasing the buffer size on whatever audio interface you're using. Is it working fine for anyone else?

Clipping is the same with bigger buffer size and now with the new version it's much more audible. Switching to stereo only clips the right channel.
Weird.. this is rare but has happened with a few other plugins with my setup (Nebula comes to mind, not sure what the others were).
