This worked for me too, thanks.

I've just skipped through this thread to get some opinions on how the new version sounds... but I can find many:?

Do people like it?

Is it an improvement over it's predecessor for those that have used it extensively?

Pretty happy that I've completely mislaid my original disc, and, after logging into the site, found out that I didn't bother registering it. :(

Just upgraded and installed.

Works fine on stand alone ( and sounds  )

But the VST DLL hasn't installed.

Tried the install again and clicked the refresh buttons but still no DLL :(
Fight Apathy or don't.

Well since the standalone actually uses the VST, it's there on your system somewhere!

Have a look at where it says it will install it in the folders page of the installer. I've tried to make it look for as many hosts as I could and read where they had placed their VST folders and default to a likely one, but I can't guarantee that bit.

I've had the mac version since it came out, and have done quite a lot of sounds with it so far.
I also owned the original imp1 for about a year now.
It is worth the upgrade cost.
The unison modes really give a great full tone, and there are a list of many other added features on their site.
The chord type presets really show off its abilities I think.
Just love those sounds.
Download the demo, and just see if it works for you.
I love it.

Tried that, didn't work at all for me. I've tried under Windows 7 with Firefox, Chrome, Opera, IE 32 bit, IE 64 bit and with Ubuntu 10 and Firefox (Live DVD) All of them fail to connect.

I guess Gforce doesn't want my business.

Maybe a firewall setting, or java version, or...I don't know.
Try getting on with a friends pc and see if you can.
Hope you get on eventually though.

Sounds like you guys are having fun :/

In all fairness, they're probably bombarded with hits right now, given the legendary status this softsynth has attained.

Personally, I was hoping Sync and PWM on non-rectangular waves would make the final cut, because I think they would really work well with the Imp's unique sound... But I suppose at least they've added ringmod and better modulation opportunities...

it defaults to an unusual place for me.

for instance my vst as used by Nuendo supposed to be in Programs (32)\steinberg\vst

but it puts it in programs 32\vst so I had to move them over.

Not a firewall setting. My FW is in my hardware router, and I tried connecting without it, but nothing. Java is up to date. Still cannot connect using a friend's laptop. I never had a problem with the old gforce site or any other site.

Oh well, guess there's a bright side if I can't connect-I save some money.

Do a google "GForce-impOSCar" search, and try one of those links.
Maybe that'll work.
