So let's see if I understand this correctly.

On your Kurzweil and Korg, when you depress the sustain pedal in mono mode it effectively acts like you'd depressed the sustenuto pedal after the last but one note played?

So if you played the line

C D E and released the E, you would get a D playing again?
That is precisely correct - provided that D is still held. If I play C D E and hold all 3 notes, E will play, then if I keep holding C and D but release E, D will play, then if I hold C and release D, C will play. Basically, it just retriggers back to the previously played notes.

I requested the same feature in VAZ Modular which was behaving the same way like impOSCar 1/2 behave now, and MadGav happily added it, after showcasing the issue with some audio and MIDI files. I can send the same to you.

Here's the audio example:

First I play with sustain pedal, then without it. Notice the difference. The sustained lick should play the same as the one without sustain pedal.

BTW, I tried your sostenuto suggestion, it does ALMOST work like this. The trouble is that it doesn't sustain any notes after I release my hand from the keys, which influences how legato connects. Sometimes I want to make bigger jumps with one hand, and in that case the last note sustaining after a trill (played under sustain!) is needed.

Wow! I thought I'd picked a very standard font, certainly noone else has reported it.. then again, maybe they thought I did it on purpose!

Have you perhaps done some sort of minimal font install for your audio machine to keep it as clean as possible?
It's very weird. I'm not on a DAW-only machine though, so I have some other stuff here too (including some more fonts than the usual Windows install, because that's how I roll), which is not the best, I know, but this is certainly not an expected situation!

Hmmm, ok, so it actually remembers the whole series of what was played before?

I'll have to think about that.

Well maybe you should look at it differently and feel proud that you have definitely got the most original and funky impOSCar2 installer out there!

That is correct. Also, after I release the hand from the keys, sustain pedal naturally sustains the last played note. This is not happening with sostenuto pedal.

As said above, I can quickly send you audio and MIDI simultaneously recorded from my Korg or Kurzweil, so you can compare the behavior.

Tell me about it! After following Racer's procedure and getting the error message that I quoted above about site content, I turned my computer off and went and had breakfast. Now when I go to www.gforcesoftware.com, I can get in to the page. Go figure.

I'll see if I still want to buy after a few days of trying Imp2, but right now aftr all this, I really couldn't care less if I buy it.

You don't want to buy a synth because your ISP is slow to update its DNS?

Post

I don't ever recall such a long wait for such a big disappointment ever in my lifetime. What a shame. At the time Imposcar I made a better impression. :(

Post

So some of you are supposedly disappointed with sound generator product because some server has some problem and you can not wait day or two to place order?

Seriously? How that does have anything with instrument itself?!??

I mean...just get the demo somehow (request it here from someone) - install and play with this incredible instrument until they solve web issues. It's worth it. It's incredible in fact!

Post

why is the empty preset not empty?it skips to the next in flstudio.

No, because the whole thing is too much hassle right now. I'm recovering from a quadruple heart bypass and even this is too much stress and bother. I can live without it, no big deal. Thanks for your help anyway. :D

Talk amongst yourselves, I'm out of this thread. Bye!

most annoying demo ever by the way....too bad but i cant stand this crackle.

Well I had to put something in there, otherwise it wouldn't be a demo would it?

Personally I've had it running for hours when testing and I can't say I find it a problem, but each to their own.

well...instrument seems topquality...why destroy it?i prefer not saving and stuff in demo's.
how to init quickly ?

I'm sorry about your condition Doug, and it's unfortunate that your ISP let you down when it came to updating it's DNS servers.

But I also know that Chris gave you a link for you to download the demo early this morning and that you successfully used it, so I don't know why you've apparantly stressed out all day only to then say you'll try it out for a few days, why didn't you just chill out with the demo and wait for your ISP to do its job?

Everyone has a different take on this, whatever solution I come up with, someone is bound to be unhappy!

If you mean init a patch, well there is currently no built in method to do the whole patch, it's been mentioned so many times though that I'll come up with something in an update. For now pick a default patch, apparantly there's a good one in the Mr Arkadin patch set you can download, and assign it to one of the memory buttons if you want to call it up instantaneously

thank you for your time.
