Well, we've been a bit busy for some time working on a secret recipe the results of which we can only now reveal

In this recording I played lead guitar and the synth parts. My Northern co-conspirator played picked and strummed acoustic guitars, bouzouki and whistle.

Excellent mix Will -- and great mellowness groove!

I'd have added a brush kit to guide one along through the tumbleweeds and dusty trails, but one gets to hip-swaying soon enough with a proper listen

You know, I've a mate wot's got a degree in Shrinking not far from your place, and I heard the last bloke he worked on successfully got rid of all his imaginary companions by taking some wee blue pills and skipping the vino at breakfast... Just a thought mate.

And I thought you'd been touring with Dire Straits.

Very nice tune. Well produced, and with a lovely sound. I guess the title implies that this is chillout music for dipsomaniacs.

I agree a discrete brush line would be a nice addition, but the only brushes I have here (and know how to handle) are for the yard!
I'm not concerned by the invisible friends, it's the enemies that are a bit of a worry, also I've given up the bottle... I buy it boxed these days

P.S. - Today the lead seems a bit too loud to me, but it didn't strike me that way the other times I listened and no one else has mentioned it, so it's probably just that sort of day.

I'm not a film-goer (never have been) so I'm afraid I don't recognise the reference

I do indeed have some soundfonts and a player. Having them and knowing how to use them to improve the music are not necessarily connected

I've discovered that trying for a very clean lead sound has a disadvantage. You are very much at the mercy of the playback equipment. As well as my monitors, I check my work on a quality domestic HiFi, a pair of AKG phones and a so-so MidFi in my office (I also use this to check out the sound in mono). It seems impossible to get this track balanced for all of them
