ImpOSCar2 Is Actually Here (Mac And PC), No Really, It Is

One of the nicest features of impOSCar I was that it allowed per-midi channel pitch bends (and as far as I remember also per-channel CCs) - unfortunetly there are so few plugins that do that!
ImpOSCar II supports poly-aftertouch now what is a nice thing but not a full replacement for the old per-channel "guitar mode" as aftertouch can only control one parameter (as opposed to having all CCs per-channel) and has a lower resolution than e.g. pitch bend. On first sight I couldn't get the guitar mode to work with impOSCar II (tried to set polyphony to mono and duo mode - still only global pitch bend). The manual also doesn't mention the "guitar mode" anymore.
So, was this very nice feature removed?

Not so much removed as not yet reimplemented and tested, it got broken with the new voice assignment for unison, and also there are aspects which don't make sense with the chord memory stuff. It's actually something I really want to get back in there from a personal point of view, but with everything else happening I had to deal with the features that most users are using first.NothanUmber wrote:One of the nicest features of impOSCar I was that it allowed per-midi channel pitch bends (and as far as I remember also per-channel CCs) - unfortunetly there are so few plugins that do that!

Incidentally it wasn't all CCs per channel, just pitch bend and modulation. I'll have to add expression to that list, and aftertouch.

Thanks for the quick answer, looking forward to it with great anticipation! (Pitch bend, modulation, expression and aftertouch would be completely sufficient at least for my purposes.)
With most other plugins you have to fiddle around with subhosts, multiple instances etc. when using instruments that support true polyphonic controls via multiple channels. With impOSCar I it is just load and play.
So nice to hear that it will return in an upcoming impOSCar II version!

But I also know that Chris gave you a link for you to download the demo early this morning and that you successfully used it, so I don't know why you've apparently stressed out all day only to then say you'll try it out for a few days, why didn't you just chill out with the demo and wait for your ISP to do its job?
Whatever, I really don't care anymore and won't be buying the product. The demo was deleted after 5 minutes anyway.
Reply if you want, getting the last word will obviously make you happy.
Like hell you are. All you care about is selling product so that you can keep your job.I'm sorry about your condition Doug,
Good bye and good riddance.

I won't say what's in my mind, but Doug B, I don't think your "condition" is a reason to act like you are. If you don't like the product just delete it, no reason for insults.

I've got the demo and can't wait until I can purchase. Just amazing sounds and hopefully to be used on my next album with my band Mu-Theory, we want to do more studio overdubs for synth parts on the next one.
If not I'll find a project, just too cool not to have.

Well I hope you'll let me know where I can listen to your music using the impOSCar 2, hearing what people do with it is the best bitSynthAholic wrote:I've got the demo and can't wait until I can purchase. I decided to take the plunge
My biggest 'gripe' with impOscar 1 was the lack of modulation possibilities. This seems to be largely remedied in version 2. The upgrade discount made the decision to, well, upgrade a lot easier

I've had it for 10 minutes and am lost in it.Stopani wrote:Ive had this for 24 hours now. Am lost in it.
The sound is huge. The new editions are easily worth the upgrade cost.
We shall see orchestral machines with a thousand new sounds, with thousands of new euphonies, as opposed to the present day's simple sounds of strings, brass, and woodwinds. -- George Antheil, circa 1925 ---

It mentions 60 pounds.. does that mean 60 pounds off the full price or, that it'll cost 60 ?
thanks
