Can I request to get the spectral display spectrum in Harmor as a separate plugin with bigger view, to analyze any audio material in realtime??!!

It can't be.. it'd not displaying audio but the partials sent to the additive engine. Can I request to get the spectral display spectrum in Harmor as a separate plugin with bigger view, to analyze any audio material in realtime??!!
But we have Wave Candy that does analysis:

Note that Harmor shows what's sent to the additive engine, & thus not the final effects (delay, reverb, etc).Damn, it just looks so much 'cleaner' in Harmor
While half of the post-effects were doable inside the additive engine (you can actually fake a reverb using the blur unit), delay & reverb would have required voices to be kept alive for way too long, rising the polyphony until all the CPU is eaten.
As for saturation, I never managed to do anything similar in the time domain.

Yep I understand. My first impression was Harmor has a very clear analyzer with heaps of bands, not knowing it displays its additive engine (only). I don't think it's required to emulate fx just for visual reference - that's what wave candy is for
However, overall Harmor seems like an amazing powerhouse synth. We are so spoiled these days!

Ah yeah .. or like that.tony tony chopper wrote:mmh but I don't see how a white picture would result in noise. A noise image would result in noise. What I mean is, that if I'd load a white picture for example, I'd get white noise instead of a sawtooth.
Anyways .. Harmor has A and B and one "OSC" per side, is that right?
Do those two sides always have to have their own filters, or is there a way to route the OSCs of both sides to one filter?
That would make some things a lot easier.

Looks awesome, I agree that most of those demo tunes on the synth site are poor though.
You need to demo particular features of the synth, have a look at some of the Alchemy demos for example. Camel audio site seems to be down at the moment but iirc there are some really good demos showing particular features of the synth, as a potential Harmor buyer, I want to hear what the synth can do in specific areas rather than quickly made little demo tunes, HTH.

both parts are fully independent (& processed in parallel). But you canDo those two sides always have to have their own filters, or is there a way to route the OSCs of both sides to one filter?
-link their controls using the link switch
-link their params to the XYZ to control both at once

I wish there somewhere could be much more than just 3 controls. 10 could be the best(Not important to have the same axis as there is, just A to Z, with abbility to assign to them) That something missing for now. IMO.tony tony chopper wrote:both parts are fully independent (& processed in parallel). So how do you like it?
I have been watching the development, but unfortunately didn't have time to get involved as a betatester (building a house). But all I have to say is this is an awesome awesome plugin!

The additional demos do a much better job at showing the sonic quality!Image-Line wrote:There are now 14 tracks on the site. http://www.image-line.com/documents/harmor.html
Regards Scott
Still, I wish there were more presets that really explored the strengths of the resynthesis, which is undoubtedly very impressive. The videos do a fairly good job at this though.
Need to spend a bit more time with the demo, but so far I'm loving some of the sounds I can tease out of this thing.

I'll answer my own post.zerocrossing wrote:Ouch, I hope it sounds better than those demo tracks. Yikes.

@Jesse J
So far I like it, but I have to say, it's not exactly easy to understand that plugin. That is one the one side of course because there are some rather unconventional features in it, but also because the GUI is not really self-explanatory .. the layout is rather "chaotic" in my opinion, and some more colors would help to divide the sections.
Also I think it wouldn't have hurt to have multiple OSCs .. maybe even just one or two "normal" ones in addition.

To get back to the picture thing:
Wouldn't it be possible to read in a picture while creating a pitch-map like it's done when you read in an audio sample?
I made a short demo of Harmor going more in the "classic" direction (VA-style). I know .. boring .. but I lack the skills to make really good sounding complex stuff.

But it's cool to see, that Harmor can do that kind of sounds as well.
(Admittetly I used an audio-sample of a Roland-synth as one of the two used OSCs. But it's not moving .. and the filtering is of course done by Harmor.)

Ah, thx for the hint. The link switch does the trick.tony tony chopper wrote:both parts are fully independent (& processed in parallel). But you canDo those two sides always have to have their own filters, or is there a way to route the OSCs of both sides to one filter?
