Image-Line Harmor released

An input sound is analyzed and decomposed it into 512 sine-waves. Each sine wave has a volume and phase envelope that modulates the sine wave. When all these sine-waves are recombined, and wobbled-about by their envelopes, you get the original input waveform back out (or something very close to it).Caine123 wrote:what does the resynthesis do exactly? didnt understand it now.
That's resynthesis.
If you want to get your head around how this works, watch this video...
This is not gol's voice BTW

Yes but how many demo video's did Camel Audio have out when Alchemy was just released !Hunter wrote:Looks awesome, I agree that most of those demo tunes on the synth site are poor though.
You need to demo particular features of the synth, have a look at some of the Alchemy demos for example. Camel audio site seems to be down at the moment but iirc there are some really good demos showing particular features of the synth, as a potential Harmor buyer, I want to hear what the synth can do in specific areas rather than quickly made little demo tunes, HTH.
Time is it called, when time comes... right now i think it's much more important to iron out possible bugs

... and to have the first look at implementing morphing between resynthesized voices
Would love to have something in Kyma quality! With the excellent quality of the resynthesis it would really make sense.

That's one reason I've been trying to get it to work with the morphing in Kore but for some reason, like several Image Line synths, Harmor resets its sound when you try and save a variation in Kore so the variation saved is not the sound you wantAlien Leg wrote:... and to have the first look at implementing morphing between resynthesized voicesWould love to have something in Kyma quality! As an Alchemy owner, i just hope the Camel audio team will speed up trying keep their resynthesis engine competitive, my main purpose beeing soundscapes samples manipulations, an (as much as possible) accurate resynthesis is crucial in many aspects,
Accurate loudness contour's restitution for instance (especially the hi-end freq.) seems still beeing "Mission impossible"
...until now, perhaps ?

Have you tried the quality settings under the "advanced" menu ?Krakatau wrote:As an Alchemy owner, i just hope the Camel audio team will speed up trying keep their resynthesis engine competitive, my main purpose beeing soundscapes samples manipulations, an (as much as possible) accurate resynthesis is crucial in many aspects,

The resynthesis can get even better, but use more cpu then...

"morphing" audio is a pretty vague word that can be interpreted in many ways. Harmor won't do "morphing" in the sense that it doesn't try to analyze envelopes of several key characterestics to keep some characteristics of a sound & some of another.
(now the real question is what those characteristics should be, for good morphing)

Well maybe there should be choices for this problem. It seems to be an underdeveloped area and the only good morphing I heard is that of the Kyma System: http://www.symbolicsound.com/cgi-bin/bi ... SoundClips -> Audio Morphing. So something in that line would be very interesting. I understand this is difficult though, as we can see on all the other implementations.

What happens when you press the > button, save your project & reload it? In hosts that don't support plugin resizing, normally the resizing will occur the next time the plugin is reloaded (or not at all, but it's not our fault, unless you've seen other plugins resize in that host)Any body managed to get the visual feedback window working in Cubase 6 and Reaper 4 using XP 32 bit? It works fine in Studio one and in standalone mode on the same set up
