This is an idea I got recently.
1. What would it take for Skinman / knobman to support different ways to break light? Put a pencil in a glass, and the light is broken differently in or outside of the glass.
2. It would also be pretty darn neat if one could apply different visual effects as well. Take a look at Win7's start menu when running Aero. As you can see it blurs out the underlying window. Such effects would prolly take a bit of work to be done, but I suppose that you could take a look at GIMP's source code since it has many such effects.
3. It would be pretty useful if one could, as in Corel Draw, render a random texture from the parameters you put in. You got for instance Perlin noise that you can define how it should look and so forth.
I know these are quite tight ideas, and I fully understand if you decline them due to their hardness to implement.

hi jobro,
though it is not so easy to implement, might be interesting.
let me ponder

While I was working on my Poise skin in SkinMan, I encountered the following bugs:
1. If I move a hidden primitive and make it visible it crashes the app.
2. Color window is positioned at the same place even if I rearrange it.
3. If I have not saved the skin that I am working on and I click on open, it shows an option "Not saved. ok?". If I click OK then it doesn't save and let me open a new file. If I click "cancel" it still does not save and let me open a new file. My understanding was if I click "cancel" it would stay on the skin that I am working on and let me save so that I don't lose it.
4. This is no big deal, just an observation on the behavior:
If I click open and then select "My Computer" it does not show the drives, etc. See screenshot below:

In case of Knobman, it behaves as it should:

Spec: Windows XP 32bit SP3, i5, 3GB RAM. If you need anything else please let me know.
Thanks for making such excellent tools.

Can someone tell me how to use the curve and shapes tools? Or where I could learn about how?

I think there are instructions on the authors website.Pipelineaudio wrote:Can someone tell me how to use the curve and shapes tools? Or where I could learn about how?
By clicking ore click&drag yout set points/curves. Clicking the first point again closes the curve. Later editing with right-click. Best is to switch off the grid first or start with big shapes.

I think there is a bug or something with 1 px wide lines. In this instance, if I make the line 164 long its fine but 165 or 163 and it has this extra dot on it

hello
1... I'm not sure about this. is there any other condition to rise?
2&3... ok, i found the cause. these will be fixed.
4... hmm, reproduced. still investigating.
i would like to fix if possible, but i recommend to use 'Rect' or 'Curve' instead of 'Lines' if you just need the 1px vertical line.
sorry I'm late.satYatunes wrote: 1. If I move a hidden primitive and make it visible it crashes the app.

i see. but this is very limited case of antialias is off/ radiated lines/ primitive width equal 1px. this seems be due to the coordinate calculation precision.Pipelineaudio wrote: I think there is a bug or something with 1 px wide lines. I did this

in Xara Webdesinger.. not a great image but you get the idea. I do like the way it has gone so far but it could be 100000% better translated to skinman ?

OK, thanks! I'll use rectangle, so far that seems to work perfect!g200kg wrote:hello

Just wanna say thank you for this great tool without I wouldn't have been able to
create and release my first plugin (and knobman of course). And while talking of japan: toddle is my favorite band right now. I keep listening to their new record "the shimmer" daily since it's out.

A few functions more that I wouldn't mind see added.
1. Exporting BMP would be sweet if you also could export 8 bit and 2 bit bmp's too.
2. Speaking about exports why not add a preview how the exported image will look like?
3. Having a lot of fonts makes it rather hard to find the ones that I want to use. So why not do it as in Word: Add the used fonts into a sub menu "Favorites" at the top of the font menu.
And finally a question: What does the "Operation" menu do?
