Have you tried running it in Compatibility Mode?
right-click the .exe,
select Properties then Compatibility tab.

are you loading it up with only native plug-ins?
i have SX3 running in Windows 7 but a third of my plug-ins crash it and half of the other plug-ins don't work in it. (i have moved onto a new host however).

Been fighting this for a while, running as admin and installing in safe mode didn’t work…. finally ran across a thread about SMT(simulated multi-threading) not working with older cubase versions. I turned it off in bios and got Cubase LE 1 oem to work in XP compatibility mode on windows 10. STM is for Amd processors, called Hyperthreading I think with Intel. Doing a pc build for a guy who refused to use anything newer, as far as Cubase LE 1 and a firepod with fire wire. He shouldn’t notice difference on pc speed. Still gonna try and take all those projects AND him to SX 3. Fingers crossed!

thanks electro !! That helped me making SX1.0.6 work on W7 32b, it was stuck like you on the pentium IV message, I limited the number of CPU cores to 1 in the msconfig, boot, advanced, and once I chose 1 core, ticked the make permanent box and rebooted. I may try 2 cores, see if it works too.electro wrote: Sun May 22, 2022 12:00 am SX still works on W10, but not if you are running more than 2 CPU cores.
Edit: Yes SX1 works on 2 cores on W7 x32
