Can't it dance some complex patterns, like polyrithmic african ones for instance ?

Wow. Music is not purposeless. Read a history book. Music's link to social change is incredibly well documented. And why do you think advertisements, movies, plays, operas, politicans and almost all religions use music?tony tony chopper wrote:it's as purposeless as music & you're still doing itCute, but purposeless.
Unless you were just hurt and trying to make a snappy zinger to get back at me I feel sad for you if you believe music is purposeless.
On the advanced tab there is what I assume is a battery. No matter how much "power" you use it never moves.tony tony chopper wrote:I assume you're talking about the icon for the volume section. How do you iconize volume? A rising bar is like universal. The half full battery
I mean lord, I'm genuinely sorry my typing didn't communicate well enough that these are minor things. I'm sorry it appears that I offended you with my critique. BTW I would probably iconize volume as a speaker maybe with some waves coming out of it.
The icons certainly aren't reasons not to buy Harmor. I actually had some love in the post for all the premade envelopes (creator deserves a hug) and ease of sound creation, but edited it out as not to get too long. I think it's relatively unanimous that it's a very good synth.
It's not like there's a notice that that will be there. It's like a pop up web ad for cock enlargement pills. Totally lacking class and their are some women that use synths that don't appreciate images like that.I hate the character on the about screen.
quote="tony tony chopper"]you still have the option not to look at the about screenI don't get why stuff like this isn't optional.
Way to project. The fallout stuff like I said I find silly. Like people that put racing stripes on slow cars. Yeah, I notice details, but I'm not "bothered".dreadnought wrote: Unbelievable what people will complain about. That sh!t is so trivial, it wouldn't even occur to me to have any strong feelings one way or the other. It's a $99 piece of software, for Christ's sake. I just bought a new car and paid $20,000 and didn't scrutinize it like that. I just can't fathom it.
This synth sounds good, does some impressive stuff, and has enough tricks that you could have almost endless fun with it. And it's only $99. The good stuff outways the bad to such a ridiculous extent that it's bewildering that anyone could be so petty to take issue with a handful of pixels. Your life must be an absolute misery to be bothered enough by something so insignificant that you feel compelled to comment.
I try not to support products that use imagery I find disrespectful towards women. I made a comment about the advertising for the teenage engineering OP-1 as well. I'm absolutely not trying to convince anyone else not to purchase it because of 1 aspect I don't care for.
Would you really like it if someone said that about a woman in your life? For me just because it's a cartoon doesn't change the sentiment.tony tony chopper wrote:you can make her dance using notes & the XYZMy only complaint is she doesn't dance!
Anyway, best of luck.

Like commenting on someone's insignificant opinion on some internet forum?dreadnought wrote: Your life must be an absolute misery to be bothered enough by something so insignificant that you feel compelled to comment.

It's these types of comments that assures ImageLine will get no more of my money............tony tony chopper wrote:it's as purposeless as music & you're still doing it
No you're only guilty of having created some of the ugliest (Harmor and Harmless) and dysfunctional (Sytrus) GUIs in the business..........and being one of the most arrogant and rude developers around......tony tony chopper wrote:Anyway, I don't think I should plead guilty of having the only fancy GUI among VSTi's, quite the opposite.

To the few who have switched from criticizing the synth to criticizing each other: Please return to discussing the synth itself. Otherwise I'll have to split the insults and attacks into a separate (locked) thread.

I can't see, where the GUI would be ugly or disfunctional.
The seperation of elements could/should be better though.
I agree about gol being cocky sometimes. I don't get it actually ... but I don't care anymore.
In forums I'm an asshole too sometimes .. but often things are not meant like they're read.
@jonahs
Oh come on ... the feminist argument is really ridiculous here. It's a cute anime-chick ffs .. most girls I know actually like stuff like that.
You must be a terribly poor "good guy", if you think, women would be offended by stuff like that.
Edit:
Oh sry ... started writing, before I saw Meffy's post.

So music is has a purpose, but drawing/painting is purposeless? Mmmh, that's interesting.Wow. Music is not purposeless. Read a history book. Music's link to social change is incredibly well documented. And why do you think advertisements, movies, plays, operas, politicans and almost all religions use music?
The world wouldn't change if you stopped doing music, just like it wouldn't change if Harmor had a blank, Ikea-style GUI. I do it because it's fun, most likely you make music for the same reason.
Yes that's a battery, iconizing "performance". Did you really try to click on a monochrome, flat icon next to a label to make it move?On the advanced tab there is what I assume is a battery. No matter how much "power" you use it never moves.
except that a speaker would iconize pretty much anything in a synth. I only use a pair of speakers to iconize panning.BTW I would probably iconize volume as a speaker maybe with some waves coming out of it.
Funny, in the past (it's not the first time we use mascots) we were told that we were inserting cartoons for kids. It's like a pop up web ad for cock enlargement pills.
I have plastic figures (& yes they have no purpose, like music & drawings) like that all over my shelves, but maybe I'm lacking class.Totally lacking class
there must be a pattern here..I made a comment about the advertising for the teenage engineering OP-1 as well.
You would prefer a male mascot btw? Or an animal? I don't know.
Seriously, you can't tell reality from fiction?Would you really like it if someone said that about a woman in your life?

it's Teksonik, he has been saying that about all of our GUIs.I can't see, where the GUI would be ugly or disfunctional.
You wanna see what he fings good-looking? This app of his (that he didn't mind selling in our forum, & then says "ImageLine will get no more of my money")..

arguing that harmless-chan is offensive to women is pretty ridiculous. I also find the character kinda silly but it's certainly not a big hang up that would prevent me from buying it. why so serious?
I may end up passing on it myself for money reasons and I'm more interested in upgrading my samples than my synths at the moment, but harmor is definitely a monster and for $99 it's a steal

This is ridiculous. Complaining about a synth's GUI and/or feministic nature is way beyond stupid. Who gives a shit? No women would think that a cartoon of a girl that isn't even human offends women.
Sytrus and Harmless are great synths with great sonic capabilities. If you like the fancy NI stuff, fine. BUt don't go around pretending you're more professional when you criticize other people's work.
