The synth looks very interesting and I am considering buying.
But the most important question: What copy protection does it use?
As a general rule, I don't buy software with obnoxious copy protection (the one exception being windows). I looked on the website but it didn't talk about it...

One of the most convenient, easy, hustle free copy protections (THANKS Imageline!).

It's a windows registry file, you just double click to authorise the software.

No C/R crap or dongle required. Easy as.

Yep! True. Its just the regfile that you have to doubleclick (Windows). Had quite some fun with that beast allready i have to admit!^^

Hi there,

does anybody know what's goin' on in the "Strum"-section? I couldn't find any info in the help-file (may be I'm to dumb to find it?).

Let me say a word on presets and demo somgs: There are dozens of softsynths around for which there are demosongs one can listen to. Most of these songs are done (nearly) completely by using only that synth and nothing else to show what the instrument is capable of. This is surely OK but who is going to make songs using only one instrument in the end? Listening to those demosongs is only half of the cake. When I listended to some demosongs that come with FL Studio I found that many presets of the Sytrus synth fit extremely well in a mix, even when a bunch of other instruments is used.
I own 5 Image Line instruments at the moment and I find it quite easy to use their presets with only a little tweaking. Besides that I've got some other instruments featuring lot's of (surely impressing) one finger endless swirling, modulating, whistling stuff I'm not goin' to use most of the time in my music.

Harmor is different to me. It seems to be an instrument that I like better and better the more I'm playing with the demo and its presets. I have tried more than 100 VST-instruments during the last years, mostly wasting my time in the end. But Harmor is a beast I'm strongly tempted to buy. Image Line product number 6?? I may be crazy...

Regards, Wilfried

Set the timeknob to 50% and press a chord ... then you will hear it ;)

Is there a subtle twist to how the arpeggiator works, as compared to sytrus?
I seem to be unable to get it to work.

According to the screen that pops up at demo start:

---
Demo restrictions

Settings are saved but not loaded

Occasional nag sound

Ok thx, but is the nag sound too frequent and naggy, or bearable for a longer test?

Arp is the same as in Sytrus.

Only differences with Sytrus (in the articulator section):

-a voice ends when the volume envelope has ended. In Sytrus, a voice ends when *all* envelopes have ended, but this apparently confused everyone (I don't know why, it makes sense to me), so it's gone.

-new features, like smooth points, not having to define a sustain point to get a loop, but those are in the latest Sytrus (FL) update as well

The synth is absolutely great, but it needs a big preset treatment. To take it from good to great. Same how so many patch makers made z3ta+ so great.

Hm, I will try tonight if I get it to work. I am familiar with Sytrus, and always get the Arp to Arp when I want it to. SOmehow I had trouble with Harmor. Maybe there is a bug somewhere? I will try again tonight and send a bug report if i still cannot figure out what is going wrong.

can't be, as you can see we have plenty of arp presets.

But the easiest is to start with the sequence tool that's built in the env editor.
