Dear Muzycians,

After a long debate with some of my closest friends & relatives, I have decided to have a deep re-think about Muzys' evolution.

We're all convinced that Muzys has a huge potential and is a ground-breaking sequencer-studio.

But we also know that it needs some extra kicks under the ass to reveal that huge potential.

At this point, i cannot make any guarantees on how things are going to develop.

That's why the shop has been closed, as I don't want to make any falls promises towards new customers.

Let me emphasize that my passion for music & technology is Alive & Kicking !

And that it is thanks to you, the enthusiast Muzys Users, that Muzys has come so far already !

And the story is not over !

Best whishes,

Jo

Good to hear from you again. Here's hoping it goes where you want it to go. :)

Hi Jo,

Thanks for the note, and hope everything os OK. Know that there are many of us who care about you and the Muzys project. Your dedication and assistance have always been greatly respected and appreciated.

Here's hoping that whatever you decide to do brings you peace and satisfaction. Here's also hoping that after your rethink, that you find the energy to continue. If not, for whatever reason, then it was a helluva ride! Thanks again!!

Cheers, Lewis

PS I hope any perceived impatience on some of our behalf hasn't added any extra weight to your shoulders. On my part, I'll be glad to wait as long as I know things are happening!

Glad to hear youre alive and kicking, have a look at the more recent threads for some outlandish theories

As for Muzys keep at it. Take your time and dont try to pump it with steroids when all that really matters for now is the OSX port.

But whatever you do re-open the shop!! There are so many waiting men (sic) out there who are dying to play with the full v3, osx port and minor bug fixes aside. Lots of revenue for the Muyzs operation too ! :)

And show here every once in a while :)

Marco :)

Jo - it's great to finally hear from you. Of course you are right about the potential of Muzys. Please reconsider your decision to shut the shop - I wish I could get hold of V3 but sadly cannot.

Good luck, please keep us updated at least once in a while!

Jo! It's fantastic to hear from you!

First off I'd like to say I'm glad you're alright - it can be a little disconcerting not being in contact for a long while and as you can see we all have some pretty active imaginations here in the forum.

Secondly, I'd like to say that I am really pleased with where Muzys has come so far. I hope that you decide to continue development, because there is so much innovative stuff in Muzys already I don't think I could happily go to another sequencer app. And like you said, it just needs a little kick in the ass in some areas to push it even further.

At any rate, I hope we can all hear from you again soon!

Best wishes,
Adam

Jo --

Glad to hear from you, and thank you for such an excellent product. I hope its true that "the story is not over".

You have an enthusiastic group of fans, and I think we all agree that the potential is enormous. I sincerely hope that you do not give up on that potential.

I really think you should re-open the shop. You can let users know that you will address bug issues with the current version of Muzys (indicating ongoing support for Muzys 3 at least), surely that wouldn't be a huge weight on your shoulders as it's already very stable :)

I think you should also keep up support, as there are alot of ComputerMuzys users out there. I really think that you've done too much hard work to let go of Cmuzys and Muzys as they are now. Re-open the shop, keep the user-base growing, otherwise I feel interest in Muzys and any of your future projects will decline. Up until late last year you had an excellent record for support, but after that I feel you have put many noses out of joint (what did Computer Music mag think of you not being contactable?) not to mention not being on here to address bugs in the current version. Sorry I had to say that Jo, but that's how I feel.

But... I have to congratulate you again on Muzys 3. :D It is an excellent product, unique and powerful. I don't think it needs as big a "kick up the ass" as you may think, as it's already way ahead in many ways :) If you bring out Muzys 4 I will pay for an upgrade, as will everyone else I'm sure!

If you keep the shop open, you can keep the money coming in and maybe outsource some of the development work if you have too much to do, or outsource the handling of support to someone, to keep the project alive. The thing with support is - you know Muzys inside and out - and no-one providing support here on KVR can come close to that. We can provide a certain level of help to new users, but it can't match your knowledge and understanding of Muzys

That's just my 2 cents. You know what's best for Muzys at the end of the day Jo :) Cheers

Great to hear from you Jo!

I think we all agree that Muzys has huge potential! But if you do get more time to work on it - please don't make the scope too large. I think a "small" release would be more that enough to make the community very happy. If it's commercial success you need (=more money) I think it's better distribution & marketing you need, not a better product (apart from OSX and audio streaming)... It soo good allready!

best wishes

I was really impressed with ComputerMuzys, especially with it's midi editor, the only things that bothers me are 5 VSTi limit and no audio streaming. I was seriously thinking about buying Muzys once it gets streaming, so I hope I'll see it once. Otherwise I'll just have to hope that midi editor in Tracktion 2 will be good, and I'll probably use this one. I think you might lose many customers when Tracktion 2 will be released, if you won't make an update. It would be a shame, because Muzys really is great program.

That's what I feel too.
You could find a commercial tip like a 'No support' version of the product. I would buy Muzys 3 also if I should wait for one year to obtain a patch.
After all it's a stable software.

I also share the consideration about Computer Music mag contacts.

I just hope you, Jo, will consider our suggestions
