Nice new one for the collection Ian mate, hope when you have it setup like you like it delivers for your needs/taste mate :) Guess you could always treat yourself to some Filtertrons or tron-style pickups if the bucker's end up not recreating the fond memories

Cheers and best to all as always

Cheers Dean,

Sadly it's been untouched today, I couldn't resist getting a Fender Mustang 1 and that arrived mid morning.....................I've spent most of the day since trying (so far with little success) to get the f#cking thing to co-operate with my pc because of driver issues :x :bang: :bang: :bang: (plea for help in another thread coming up shortly)
RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.

There's a guy over at CM forums who's spent years getting together a collection of Kawais (iirc) they all look much the same to me bar the finishes but he likes them. Granted they're not in the Daions price bracket but are probably nearly as scarce.

'EDIT'

Yep, definitely Kawais http://www.musicradar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90321 his *family* is on the 2nd page.
in 07 I was bidding on the matching bass to my guitar, when it went over 1000 dollars I stopped. I paid 650 for mine but once again I could not justify that high of a cost on a guitar (the cost of the one on ebay) at this point in my life.

The ironic thing would be for Fender to buy Gibson and then immediately shelve them.
That's pretty much what they did to the Guild electrics: they released a few models as DeArmond, then maybe one or two models as Squier, then shelved everything, except for the Guild acoustics.

I use a combination of D'addrio XLs and GHS Boomers. Works well for me personally. I wish that either of the mentioned string brands release one set that is right for me as it is i have to either buy individual strings and/or mix and match between a few different packs :x Im not asking much except cut me a pack and save me some money...Like they ever will unless some famous player starts using a similar gauge and it becomes popular :(

At which point it becomes a 'label' brand...and OOPS..up goes the price... :help:

Right now I have to go and buy 6 sets of strings just to get the 6 I need :x :nutter: :tantrum: :nutter: :x

It is rather pretty isn't it? :D I forgot to take pics of the back, but it's plain maple, as is the neck :tu:

Is that spalted maple Ian? It looks good whatever it is. The headstock is nice also in that its original but not TOO ORIGINAL if you know what i mean :)

So its not just me then? 8) to know but its still a f00kin bitch hey?

Eric that sort of guitar would be a waste in these hands as you probably know but it does look cool for that style (dislike the glo finishes on ricks and dislike the prices even more for what one gets but thats me and i understand there is a place for them and players whom make good use of them also)

Cheers

It is Dean, only a cap but that's to be expected at the price. I never really took much notice of the headstock tbh, I'm not one of those where a shape/size can be a deal killer, it'd have to be really obnoxious for me to take offence at one.

Once the frets have been levelled and dressed it'll be a killer. I could, and would, do it myself on a cheaper guitar but I'd rather not take the risk, and my tech is good.
