I have a problem.
My workstation crashed and I recovered my setup on another PC.
I installed Acid Pro 7 and SampleTank 2.5 (same setup as before)

When launching Acid it loads the plugin and I can use it.
But as soon as I open an old session it gives me an error:"The Soft Synth plug-in "SampleTank 2.x" was not found or did not load properly."

What I noticed is that my dll doesn't have the space in the name. so I tried to rename it, removing the space. But nothing

It seems there is no way to get old sessions work with the new setup. It's a big problem because I have some songs I was wortking on for clients.

Does anyone know a possible solution?

Hmmm... that sucks. Some ideas:

-- in your new setup, are the names and paths of the folders containing the ST dll and the sounds the same as in your old setup?

-- have you tried the "Force Rebuild" option in Acid's Plug-in Manager?

-- Try asking on ACIDPlanet's forum (there's this one guy called pHUNboy or something like that, bit of an Acid Pro guru) as well as IK Multimedia's...

I've done everything possible. It's really strange.
I'll try on ACIDPlanet, hoping for a solution.

For anyone reaading this: I'm really upset by this issue and really thinking to switch on Cubase. I think Cubase can better manage VST. Feel free to comment my opinion

It's hard to be sure what the cause of your problem is. PCs, DAWs, VSTis and their interactions can be very complex. ACID has issues but in my experience has generally been quite reliable with VSTis; whereas I have had more issues specifically with SampleTank than I have had with other VSTis. If you read other posts here you will see that others have had isssues with it as well; it has big fans and big enemies (and people in between, like me). I'd advise you to ask others on the IK Multimedia forum if they've had this problem. I'd also contact, on this forum, Xenobt, trogo and Darkstar, all of which seem to know a lot about SampleTank, and who seem to be very nice guys.

I know it won't help with your older projects, but I made the switch from ACID Pro 7 to Cubase 6 and have not regretted it one bit.

I love ACID, but it's showing its age.

A few other points...

-- I switched from Sonar to Acid Pro 7 and like it a lot; having said that, I am not trying to defend my choice by trying to persuade others to stick with Acid if they don't like it

-- As I mentioned above, SampleTank is known to do flakey things; I think it would be a good idea to research fruther for a solution, and to try to determine whether your problem is something that won't happen again with another DAW -- though admittedly this is hard to know for sure unless you can replicate your system "crash" with another DAW (something you probably don't want to do)

-- If you do decide you want to invest money and time learning a new DAW, you might want to consider Reaper as well as Cubase. I haven't used either but know that both have excellent reputations, and that Reaper users especially seem to love it. If nothing else, it is a lot cheaper than Cubase 6 (in the UK the full version of Cubase 6 is over £500)

I'd be interested to know how this works out for you -- happily, I hope

Speaking as an Acid Pro 7 user who's switched to Reaper, it's definitely a huge improvement, especially in how it handles VSTs... like, actually recognizing all of them, for starters. AP7 (and other Sony products like Sound Forge 9) simply doesn't see a lot of plug-ins, which is extremely frustrating. With Reaper, never a problem.

I don't actually have ST, but I find Cubase to be much more stable than AP7, as well as recognizing a lot of other plugs that simply didn't show up in AP7.

I haven't tried Reaper v4 yet, but I found v3 to crash a lot on my system.

There are also many more features in hosts other than AP7, especially for MIDI (for me, anyway).

And there is no 64-bit version of AP7, and I haven't seen any movement in development of an AP8, which is sad, IMO. As I said, I loved AP7, but I found it became unusable for me after a short time. Even now I'm considering getting a new MB so I can upgrade to 16GB of memory from the 8GB I have now (Amplitube really kills RAM fast)(it's funny, I always thought my 3D software would require more RAM, not music software!).

I just installed Reaper evaluation and everything is fine.
I can switch between different PC, projects are loaded with SampleTank and its presets.

I'm really disappointed for old sessions, I think I won't be able to recover them

I'm glad you found a solution for the future, though am really sorry to hear about your old sessions. That sucks.

Did you by chance contact anyone on the Acid / IKM forums, or the tech support for either, to see if they can help you recover them?

Acid was a great program back in the day, but it appears to be no longer in development. I still have an Acid 7 license from some years ago, but have moved on..... Reaper has a learning curve, but is actually easier to use, once you get into it.
