Hi,

I've recently run into problem with Albino cutting off the release of some notes. I guess the easiest thing would be to demonstrate. I'm running my sequencer (tried with FLStudio and Acid Pro), loaded Albino (3.1.1 for PC), set to factory preset Super Pads/A3 Fluweel-Pad and make it play this midi sequence (http://www.lcg.de/fail.mid). For me, it sounds something like this. Note how at the first chord change the release is fine where as the second and third time it's cut off (with a click, no less). If played in a loop, I couldn't discern any pattern between played and cut releases. Is that happening for anyone else? Is it something I'm doing wrong?

Thanks, Dreambuilder.

Hello Dreambuilder,

Yes, the same thing is happening to me with Albino and Alpha. It is much more pronounced using Alpha and is easier to discern in mono mode. All you need to do is to turn the sustain in the amp envelope to maximum or nearly so and you get the cutting off problem. As you add gain to the decay it gets much worse. I think the problem exists in other envelops as well.

The problem is there using AU or VST versions. I can't say about RTAS. I'm using OSX and Logic and Numerology.

I've been waiting for someone else to notice this bug for about 10 months now. Hope it gets fixed soon.

I can reproduce this problem, thanks guys. We'll trace it down and include a fix in the next update. Dreambuilder, very good prepared bug report, extra thank you for that!

Until we release the update you can workaround it by reducing the sustain level a tiny bit, the problem only arises when the note is switched Off during the Decay phase AND when Sustain parameter is at Maximum,

Hi Peter, thanks for your reply. Reducing the sustain level doesn't seem to work for me. However, I can easily wait a few days or even weeks for an update as long as it's coming at all ;)

Dreambuilder, its going to take a few weeks. Reducing Amplitude Sustain level doesnt work for you ? In the patch you mentioned ? That would be strange, can you get in touch via email (e.g. from here) and i send you a development built to see if the fix is really going to fix the issue ?

The OP tried to reply but the spam filter wasn't letting the post through. I can't figure what's causing the problem so I'll just post it instead.

Sorry, I sort of missed this reply and kind of forgot about the issue. Now I'm reading last week's announcement that Albino is going to be discontinued. Since there still is no fix out, does this mean there won't be any?

Are you using the newest FL 10.5 beta? I find it is snapping the release on some synths so far.
